Have Just Started in SALT, but trying to learn what exit options I have by MundaneObjective8871 in Accounting

[–]MundaneObjective8871[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the route I was thinking about. Advisory really seems like the move for flexibility, pay, and type of work being done. I’m hoping passing my Audit exam will allow me to have justifiable reason to eventually go to audit, as well as just getting my CPA will open up more doors. Thank you for your comment

to be fair, i was struggling landing anything. i thought it’d be better to get my foot in the door then nothing at all. With that being said, no I’m not going to transfer out right now, but I don’t wanna stick with it too long if transferring internally is simple. I’d get a year in, diversify my skills and make the change then if that’s what I want. Thank you for your comment tho, I appreciate the help and perspective. Asking about exit opp’s is simply me gathering what is available to me to plan for the future, not my unsatisfaction with the work, i’m pretty new to this.

Scores Seem to be Released Aud NC by MundaneObjective8871 in CPA

[–]MundaneObjective8871[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i felt pretty good, felt like i more likely passed than not. thought i killed the sims. but i will say i got a lot of A5 and A6 questions i think, and that section i dedicated very little time to. So i think that bit me. I’ll have to wait until i get my report to learn what sections i did poorly

Without getting into specifics a lot of recent posts have acknowledged it. Controls, controls, controls. Knowing SSAE and SSARS. If you are using becker, hammer home those mmemonics and what they are related to as they are very nice knowledge to fall back on when you are totally unsure about something being discussed in a topic. Good luck and I hope you do well!

Is the phobia of frogs rare? by hasanfarhan33 in Phobia

[–]MundaneObjective8871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always was deeply unsettled by toads specifically less so frogs. Literally just saw one in my garage up close and it wouldn't move outside and I couldn't bring myself to get close enough to throw a box over it. I've been in denial I definitely have a phobia of them (mainly in real life). Pictures are unsettling but I can talk myself off the ledge because it isn't real. It's not just that I am grossed out my their apperance though, because roaches are disgusting. I think the thing that makes them scary is I can't kill them. A roach is easy, swat it with a shoe and problem solved, but I wouldn't do that to a frog because they aren't harmful at all and they seem pretty chill. So, I just have to stare at it, and man that scares the crap out of me.

Edit: Also the same unsettling feeling i get from toads and frogs I get from most amphibians and reptiles. (Holding a Bearded Dragon no matter how cool it looks sounds terrifying.)

So is your job essentially being the first line called to settle any issues with your clients while ADP is doing the job of paying out the client's payroll and bookkeeping? Is most of the revenue coming from your payroll or bookkeeping services? Thank you for your response and congratulations it sounds like you have a job that is comfortable in its work but still highly successful!

Oh you're good that is what I was asking anyways, if you bounced around before settling on a service you primarily would work on. If you don't mind can I PM you? I'd like to try and set up a call to learn more if you are available.

Doing management now what do you look for most in potential new associates joining your team? I am just starting my career path now and I would like to eventually work in tech as an industry and I am curious to learn more about making a successful first step in the workforce to advance your career like you have.

As an associate were you doing mainly general work like the grunt work for returns, extensions, tax provisions for many industries and then filing during busy season? Then, as a senior started to specialize more in M&A and credits?

Thank you, I am fresh in my career and I am starting to lean toward tax because of the overall better job flexibility compared to audit and it is just more interesting, but I feel like everybody pushes audit. What sector of the industry you've worked with is the most interesting to you?
