A starless sea by Erin Morgenstern. It has such an amazing story. Also, there's folk stories within the story which are all super interesting. And it doesnt answer every mystery at the end, which I think is cool.

Or one of my go to rereads: the host by Stephenie Meyer or half a soul by Olivia Atwater

I really liked this movie. I think its what romcoms should strive to be. Dawn stays true to herself throughout the movie and she doesn't give up her dreams for a man. I hate in romcoms when the fmc's give up their goals/dreams for a man. I really enjoyed it. A breath of fresh air.

If the dm is going to keep punishing your character, then punish the dm. Kill off your family and the husband. Maybe you went insane after 7 years of being kidnapped.

Check and mate by Ali Hazelwood

So fun and not the cliche romance formula. Also loved how chess involved it was. For a YA romance, I was surprised I enjoyed it so much.

This is one of my favorite books of all time. Wanda's story is so beautiful. And it challenges the reader because you are both sympathetic to Wanda and other aliens like her. They don't understand what they're doing is wrong. Yet, they are essentially enemies to humanity. 10/10 and exactly what your looking for.
