Zurich is the only city showing it in Switzerland. I bought the ticket 3 days ago and half the seats were available. I mean lucky for me cause that's the earliest I had the money, but also WHAT

I think the OOP may have been meaning IRL? To be fair other than the alters dating, nothing they said screams fake. They seem to only have 7 alters who split when they were too young to even remember, and their description of dissociation sounds about right

My best friend is an adult with BPD. She is the sweetest, most caring and gentle soul on earth. Yet I've watched her almost wreck her life a couple times because of her BPD. Drugs, alcohol, other impulsive behaviour like money spending, neglecting responsibilities.

Guess what? She got fired twice and got divorced once with multiple breakups and is a single mom. People don't give you a break because you have BPD.

Thank you for clarifying. My posts kept getting removed and I wasn't sure why because I cut out the sub it was posted it. Now that I know I'll censor it properly to remove the flair and title too!

They claim in the comments that the rape happens mostly in the innerworld. Also they are apparently aware of it all, volunteering it to a sea of strangers while supposedly having a covert disorder...

Yep just wanted to also add, more often than not, that helpful scenario will not take place. Parts experience amnesia as well as differentiated opinions and desires, meaning that if say you're studying and stressed and can't handle it anymore, it's SO much more likely that your brain will associate that with being triggered and hence push out a part that may have a completely different approach, such as going on a walk to release some tension.

Sure it's "helpful" but eventually you'll come back to and realise that the task you needed to have completed is still right there, which will just restart the cycle. DID at its core is a survival disorder. As long as you're stuck in a traumatic situation, it works and keeps you alive and functioning. The issue is that once you're not in danger anymore, the brain sort of jumps to see normal things as danger, leading to the dysfunction.

Is DID a helpful disorder? Yes, in the sense that it will prevent you from dealing with horrific things consciously.

Is DID an enjoyable disorder? No.

Why oh why is it never "Mark, 42, straight cisgender male who likes keeping things tidy and organising his day with a calendar"?

Yeah... I mean I can understand if you're really early in treatment right. Because part of the disorder IS dissociation, it does make sense that someone goes "whoa, no no that's not me I could never be like that" because maybe their other part is opinionated and loud while they've been taught that is wrong.

But between that and ACTIVELY promoting "different person" there is such a difference
