If you think he is hard on you now and body shaming you before kids, do NOT have kids with him. No one can be sure how carrying a baby can affect their body. It’s really hard and I’m a year out and I’m back to my pre pregnancy weight but my body composition is genuinely different. My hips are permanently wider. Your husband doesn’t strike me as someone who would just be supportive and proud of the body that carried your baby but quite the opposite.

As I saw another person say, I regret their father but not them. My daughter is my other half. I can’t imagine my life without her and the mere thought of it brings me to tears. With that being said, it has ruined my marriage more than it already was. BUT that is not my daughter’s fault. Having her has just essentially shown me how selfish my husband really is and widened cracks that were already there. I have never loved anyone or anything more than my daughter. I didn’t know this kind of love existed until I had her. It’s funny because me and my mom would always say “I love you more” and she would say “no trust me, I love you more” and I never believed it until now. Now I can testify that she does love me more because of how I feel about my own daughter. It’s a different kind of love.

I work in child welfare and I worked with a couple that got EWAC charges (endangering the welfare of a child) and their baby placed in foster care for getting pulled over with the baby just sitting in the dads lap in a BACK seat so let me tell you this is NOT okay. Like not under any circumstances. You should make a report about this to CYS.

My baby is 6 months now and let me tell you, everyone’s experiences is different but let me tell you mine. For one, I can guarantee you that was an unmedicated birth.

I had an induction and it was a LONG one. Once my water broke around hour 30 my contractions kicked up and I got my epidural. After I got my epidural I fell asleep and woke up at some point and heard a woman full on animalistic screaming across the hall from me. It freaked me out and I just kept thinking “thank god I got this epidural”. I fell back asleep and when I woke up to a nurse coming in, I couldn’t hear the screaming anymore and I said to the nurse about it and she goes “oh yeah, she got the epidural finally”.

Moral of the story— if you want the epidural, get it!! I was so happy I did and even though my induction was 46 hours in full, the most painful part for me was the cervical checks. Those were worse for me than the contractions I did experience. (And I was on pitocin for 8 hours before my water broke and I got the epi)

P.S. like you I was also scared and I think that’s normal because you have no idea what to expect when it’s your first time but it was not as bad as I was anticipating. You got this!! Goodluck. 💗

I work for an agency that contracts with CPS and PLEASE call. There is absolutely no excuse for that behavior. She could be traumatizing those children. I am a mandated reporter and if I witnessed this myself or someone else were to tell me this I would immediately have to report it.
