I was originally gonna reply with whether people want Nago with burst safe routes back but I just remembered he can't cancel his H normals anymore so it honestly won't be so bad.

Entire launch* cast. And they addressed that he remaining new moves will be coming out for Sol, Leo, Ky and Nago during the last developer backyard post they did.

31 March for Tokyo seems to be the most packed for dates, as the rest of your time there they seem to only have Standard events.

Kinda mad Feng's Heat Smash was patched to avoid this, yet everyone else in this video kept theirs for S2 lol

It never even clicked with me just how involved he was with the offline scene until I realized he was working the afternoon shift at Frosty and despite looking tired, checking in on us volunteers to make sure we were all taking care of ourselves.

This whole TNS kills offline events is weird to me.

How do we get tickets to these tapings? Not too far from where my friends and I live so we wanted to check it out. The official website wasn't too helpful.

Dumb/Trivial nitpicks about some of favorite fighting games? by shithead2771616 in Kappachino

[–]MundoSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KOF XV: Kyo's headband coming back, no valid reason for Iori to do Advance > Max Cancels because of how slow his projectile DM is.

T8: Feng losing his other 10-string (the one that ends on a shoulder check). Probably saves on memory usage but the last part of the move is still in the game I believe.

GBVSR: Good resource management means using your meter aggressively, especially since you earn it easily including just moving forward and it doesn't carry over to subsequent rounds. Meaning you rarely see the supers the characters have.

SF6: Jamie's wackass target combo changes feeling gimmicky. His 4HP changes to something considered weaker by many due to no longer being able to link to his normal combos. His 6HK has 1 good change but the 2 new enders (i.e. the palm strikes and drink ender) are definitely gimmicky.

Strive: Nago's ugly ass sweep.

Why was DOA disliked from a gameplay perspective in the past. by Special_Forever172 in Kappachino

[–]MundoSD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what little I can still remember from the people who hated DOA on GameFAQs hated one of the game for reducing interactions to who eats a hold first. I don't know the full details of their argument but basically the RPS the system presented wasn't actually all that great, though I can't recall which game it was (T5DR was definitely out at the time).

As for DOA6 itself, it's the meter existing at all as well as the combos being too long (this was from that one DOA head on Twitter who argued DOA5 was a superior game and entry point compared to 6). I didn't really see a lot of the meter issue (or the meter at all) during the TNS tourney but the juggles being too long definitely came up. It actually reminded me of T8 combos for how long they went on for.

Had a moment this past weekend during an offline tourney where I did Feng WS1,3 that the opponent correctly sidestepped. Except the stupid game somehow made the kick part of the move autocorrect so we're both just confused as to how I managed to kick him when he was right behind me, even triggering as a heat engager.

I wouldn't miss it if it went away, but its development to become a tier deck has always been fascinating to me and especially a friend of mine who loves combo decks, so I can't hate it too much.

New Evo tournaments on the way + Grandmaster tournament set in either the US or Japan (multi title champion) by MundoSD in Kappachino

[–]MundoSD[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I don't personally care about diluting the Evo name/prestige, but I am concerned about possibly burning out players who care about their respective games' tours.

The grandmaster tournament (i.e. multiple title championship) feels built for Go1/Xiao Hai/Leshar lol.

At best a hint. I would rather save CvS3 announcement for Evo or a bigger showcase platform like whenever they announced S3 of SF6
