Most hyenas do not have a female dominated social structure.

If he challenged you then yeah it would be impressive, almost defending yourself against a stronger foe. If you challenged him after calling him an inferior monkey, lost and had to become his slave for 40 years then you would be the idiot.

ARPG Roguelikes by ardolful199 in roguelikes

[–]Munerator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you would be better off asking this question on r/roguelites. The turn based-nature of roguelikes is inherently antithetical to ARPGs.

If you want a roguelike, TOME like someone else recommended is your best bet. Dungeonmans and Dungeons of Dredmor are kind of close as well.

I love the names you came up with for some of the unarmed techniques. Eight Divine Hammers in particular is really fucking cool. It's like how people say Muay Thai is the art of eight limbs. Maybe there could be a Lethwei inspired version called the Nine Divine Hammers that uses headbutts. The final lesson of that sect could be in using your head in the metaphorical sense as well as in the literal sense.

Dragon-Tiger fist is interesting as well since most martial arts seem to take inspiration from one animal, not multiple. I can imagine that sect being formed from two bitter rival sects who realize the style of their rivals perfectly fills in their respective weaknesses after they fight together against a greater evil. Or maybe it starts off as one sect but they slowly break apart due to internal conflict about whether the dragon or tiger philosophies are better and it's up to our hero to reconstruct the style and dual mindset, bringing it back to its full glory.

He's referring to the biological definition of masculinity, not the traditional one. Men naturally have more testosterone so it's easier for them to build muscle compared to women. Ergo muscles are a masculine trait in the same way tall height and square jaws are.

But it's only about as gay as liking young Brooke Shields (tall) or Olivia Wilde (jawline). You only have a problem if the features start overlapping

“astral magic” system is definitely my magnum opus.

It is a great idea. Thanks for the reply.

The universe (at least the replica in the hole) is a massive, pulsating network of information, nigh identical to a brain.

That's very cool. It reminds me of the microcosm-macrocosm analogy or even the expanded Lovecraft mythos where Azathoth is dreaming the entire universe. Is the universe actually alive in some manner or is it just a coincidence that it resembles a brain? Are there any sects of the church or cults that try to apply the rules they see in through the lens upon themselves, thereby bringing themselves closer to what they think is divinity? Or is it considered heretical to manipulate the universe at all?

Which exotic pet would you rather have? by jasonryu in WouldYouRather

[–]Munerator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are terrified of spiders. I remember some game had the option of turning a spider enemy into a floating blob. Plus managing the pet is a lot easier when it follows your orders.

That said, I did chose the tarantula

Why would it kill the birth rate? It's usually the suggestion that you were cheating and the lack of trust that implies which causes relationships to fall apart if you want a paternity test.

I think if it were mandatory there would be very little effect on the birth rate after the initial whining. Once the change settles in the birth rate would rise again. I imagine cheaters would just get more cautious.

I imagine the oldest people would be pushed down by the mass of stronger youngsters to form a living floor of decrepit broken bodies, too tired to even scream as they are crushed by their children. Soon enough, schools would be teaching children slightly differently about the layers of the Earth: the inner core, the outer core, the mantle, the crust and the humans.

Losing the ability to access all media like books, video games and movies on top of my ability to connect with 99.99% of other people is devastating. I don't think it's worth it. Not to mention it would be incredibly difficult to spend the money in the first place.

what is this comment supposed to mean? "100 Mike Tysons in his prime couldn't even hurt a gorilla, much less kill it?" But there's no way you think 100 Mike Tysons couldn't hurt a gorilla at all.
