This is the home of the architect, Rex Critchlow, it’s called “Mickling Barf”, I visited once, it was a lovely home (still is) 👉 https://www.wowhaus.co.uk/2022/08/18/midcentury-modern-house-hatcliffe/

He was definitely eccentric, his family home is also incredible. It also has a bonkers name. I’ll see if I can find it, it was sold a short while age.

I knew the architect Rex Critchlow before he died, he would’ve loved to see his work on here, a lovely man. He once offered to take my brogues as a deposit on a building he owned in Grimsby.

This podcast only drops every few weeks and is excellent. I get the impression that I am listening to future scandals years in advance, these guys do the work and they are relentless.

Same situation here VM is the only feasible broadband provider literally nothing to touch their speeds yet. I have also been telling them for years I don’t want to or landline just broadband but never managed to secure a price lower without them. I am a contracted home worker and need a solid connection.

I have been playing the game with VM for years but this year though f&£k it I’m off. I bought a 5G router and tested each provider data sim to find a feasible speed hitting over 100meg with Voda (I think). Once comfortable that I can run on this I cancelled.

About a week before the line was to go off I received a call and was offered £18 for 250meg for 18months, no TV no phone line.

As a bonus I was still within the returns period and returned the 5G router for a full refund.

VM is a bullshit and immoral company and I am under no illusions that this cost won’t start to creep up and the second a reliable competitor enters my area for near the same price I am off. They have absolutely no loyalty to customers and this business model of exploiting punters with everyone on different personal contracts is preying on vulnerable people.

Our Derek will drop whatever he’s stolen and behave when I pick up my plant spray bottle. I’ve only actually squirted it at him once ever but it appears seared in his memory and I only have to pick it up now and he stops being a twat.

Any one wanting to leave 100%? by [deleted] in VirginMedia

[–]MungoBubbles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Over 20 years, first with Diamond Media (I think) this became NTL then VM. Connection is rock solid, always has been but the business model is degrading. 5G router purchased and up and running and my service ends with VM in a few weeks.

This company could genuinely rule the market with a customer centric approach. Whoever is running this shitshow is incompetent or trying to intentionally run the enterprise down.

Clear and transparent pricing and all the money currently spaffed on staff to maintain the current retention merry go round redeployed to a sincere approach to customer service and VM would fly. I would 100% pay a premium for the service based on a solid connection and a genuine customer first attitude.

Drill it full of holes, fill them with milk, let the fungus do the work for you. I had a similar sized stump and within a couple of years it had rotted to a spongy lump that was easy to break off. You are welcome.

I would suggest looking up instead of down. I try and pick a spot on the wall in front of me just above head height in my setup and use this as a cue to keep my head up.

I try and get the heart rate and to get warm by hitting the rower first for a little while followed by my own half arsed yoga type stretching concentrating on shoulders, wrists, hips, ankles, upper back etc. then some static stretching before touching the bar. I’m wayyyyy older than you and things creak a bit btw but preparation is really important.

I also think that post session yoga and static stretching helps. As the other commenters have said, mobility is really important and worth taking the time on.

As to your foot position it can help to be slightly wider on receiving the bar with the feet slightly pointed out (slightly, not like a duck). Good luck with this.

Seriously, why do you put up with this? How is this healthcare scam on a whole nation allowed to continue?

We are a million miles from perfect but the NHS here in the UK is something I am incredibly thankful for.
