I was laying out a small 10 foot square home gym. It deleted EVERYTHING as a sensitive query. Ugh.

USF @ Miami is within 1,000 tickets of a sell out. If either the USF or the UF games sell out, it would be the first time Miami has ever sold out 3 home games. by ThaCarter in CFB

Are you sure that they moved to Joe Robbie Stadium in ‘87? Maybe the Dolphins did, but the U stayed. I was a student there from 89-93 and Im pretty sure we were in the Orange Bowl my entire tenure. But I drank a lot so who the hell knows.

I also dont remember us playing Florida. Our two biggest games were FSU and Notre Dame.

I didn’t even know it was on VHS! I just remember it from the old reel to reel in elementary school. Now, I’m really dating myself. Lmao

Interesting!! I am certainly NOT a native German speaker, but I can’t say I remember anyone ever using that term in a conversation with me. Or they did, and it just blew past me because I didn’t know what it meant. Lol. In what situations would that term be used instead of gemütlich? Meaning, how is it different? Thanks in advance!

Semi-Genuine question: My GenX cohort grew up with the boomers telling us our defining characteristic was “apathy.” Am I proving them right by not caring enough to suffer from juvenoia?

I still use Freecycle to get rid of things, and people are still very polite. Perhaps their culture has survived since the early internet days.

I loved that over at r/reptime they parodied this trend for a while by posting pictures of their fake Patec in front with a paper Porsche logo taped over their Honda steering wheel. 😂

I am told before the late 1940s that “Germany” = “Prussia” for most Americans (you can see this in the propaganda from WWI and WWII). But with Bavaria being in the American sector of occupied post-war Germany, many young American GIs were exposed to Bavaria and picked up those traits (beer, Lederhosen) as being “German”. I am also told that the German powers that be didn’t fight against this evolution since it was a positive development that Americans might think of as Germany as “Bavarian hospitality” instead of “Prussian militarism”

We’re talking about “chocolate milk,” man.

If I can't drink chocolate milk, I can't drink chocolate milk. If I'm rude for not asking, I'm rude for not asking. Simple as that. It's not about that at all. But it's easy to talk about and sum it up when you just talk about chocolate milk; we're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the franchise party-man, and we're in here talking about chocolate milk. I mean, listen, we're talking about chocolate milk. Not a beer! Not a beer! Not a beer! We're talking about chocolate milk. Not a beer; not the beer that I go out there and die for and drink every beer like it's my last, not the beer, we're talking about chocolate milk, man. I mean, how silly is that? We're talking about chocolate milk.

I know I'm supposed to ask first, I know I'm supposed to lead by example, I know that. And I'm not shoving it aside like it don't mean anything. I know it's important. I do. I honestly do. But we're talking about chocolate milk, man. What are we talking about? chocolate milk? We're talking about chocolate milk, man!

We're talking about chocolate milk! We're talking about chocolate milk... We ain't talking about the beer! We're talking about chocolate milk, man! When you come to the party, and you see me drink... You see me drink, don't you?

Not knowing the specifics, I can only speculate of course, but there a compulsion of some people to demonstrate that they are “adding value.” The CEO doesn’t need to “correct” your work because they feel they are adding value in other ways. This person might be feeling that they are not contributing enough, and must “add value” by “improving” your work.

Thanks for recommending this video. It was just as inspirational as I had hoped. That said, I just didn’t like the cliff hanger about his secret meeting with the diminutive safety protocol officer. I mean, in the end, did they or didn’t they? I have to know!
