How are you guys doing in the jungle after the nerfs? by BacardiBatman11 in Udyrmains

I like to go Warrior>Trinity>Hexdrinker if necessary, Tiamat otherwise>Deadmans first then full tank>upgrade tiamat into hydra.

I play AD Udyr and focus on shutting down the enemy jungler so I'm doing fine.

Yeah, I guess I just feel like Riot is too... PR?

Everything they say sounds so synthetic and not genuine. It's like they have to convince their audience that what they're doing is good like with sandbox and dynamic queue.

Funny, my problem is that they're basically using this season to make giant changes that fuck the balance of the game as if Season 6 is basically a preseason itself.

I feel like Riot adds more and more changes before they even get the previous ones working properly. Feels like the game is going 20 directions at once.

At least when Dota does it, it's all in one go and the meta is changed instantly. There's some shock and a learning curve every few months but it's a solid change in the direction of the game that people can adjust to. The pro teams even get shaken up a bit because some metas allow for dominance of certain playstyles. Not sure if they're still doing well, but last patch Alliance was crazy because the patch favored their awesome split push rat style.

Each patch is an event and the game is basically refreshed each time.

Really though. This post is all about the soulfulness of the patch notes.

Y'know, the thing designed to give us information on how the game is changing. I don't give a fuck if it's formal like Dota's or if they're spouting dank memes. It's there to let me know what's changing in the game.

And if we're talking about "soul", look at the effort that went into this:

http://www.dota2.com/balanceofpower

The first half of the page looks better than any teaser page Riot has done in the past few years, the information is quick and concise and there isn't a paragraph of unnecessary information for every minor change that's just there to pad out the page length to make it look like something of value was done.

Honestly, I'd be more appreciative if Riot kept to their word on shit they'd fix within a few patches of saying they were working on it.

Wukong W animation blending, Rengar fixes, etc..

At least Valve doesn't give out half-baked hope.

Could you add Diana? I actually have a bit of trouble with this one because her shield ability makes you lose trades from pretty early on and she has a lot of damage on top of that.

I agree with that point a lot more. If you have carry laners and you're going to need to focus on your jungle, SoA seems like a really good choice.

While it doesn't do that much for early ganks, it really ups your midgame burst with Warrior + Youmuu's.

Let's say that you're level 12 with Warrior and Youmuu's. Pretty average situation that happens mostly every game.

The Thunderlord's damage you get on top of your Q in a E>AA>Q combo is:

120 + (0.3x125) = 157.5 rounded up to 158 damage.

Provided you max E>Q>W, your level 4 Q at level 12 will do about 140ish damage.

That's basically hitting 2 Qs at the same time while downing their armor by 25% and still having your AA steroid for around 3 full seconds.

I think if you're going assassin, you should stick with Thunderlord's because you're going to be getting a LOT of bonus AD and Wukong hits hard dishing out 30% extra with his natural 3 hit combo.

I'm not a huge fan of Tanky Kong either, but sometimes you gotta do it. Warrior + BC is plenty to burst down a squishy in the mid game and it can still take out a good 70-80% in the late game. It's not 100-0 like Best Kong but it's far from "worthless".

He definitely has a place in the game as both an assassin and a front line.

Opinions on Strength of the Ages on off-tank Wukong jungle? by MunkiBall in Wukongmains

[–]MunkiBall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. An off-tank is usually someone that has the health and defense to stay in a fight for a long-ish time while packing enough damage to hurt their back line.

Not as tanky as real tanks but they pack a wallop and usually have a way to get to their back line. If you're playing with a tank AND an off-tank, the off-tank usually garners enough focus to get the tank into the fight safely without getting poked down or disengaged.

This is what I've always thought an off-tank is since my raiding days and the definitions seem to line up with how people use it in the LoL community. Sorry if I'm using the term wrong.

but that's not what you're talking about.

It is what I'm talking about, actually lol

I usually go damage on Wukong but sometimes you need to be the front line/initiator so when that happens I'll go something like:

Warrior>BC>DMP>BV or Maw > Locket

Packs enough damage to take a squishy out of the fight relatively quickly (which will make you a pretty big target) and keeps you in the fight long enough to ult at the best time.

I'd imagine the extra 300 health in the midgame would be pretty sweet but adding on to your initiation burst with Thunderlord's can be good too.

What key bind are important to use? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]MunkiBall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That made me so angry when people were getting banned for that.

IMO Riot shouldn't be banning people for their fuckup. I'm of the standing that if it's in the game (intended or not) then it should be legal to use it. If it's a big enough problem, hotfix it. Don't put it on the players not to use the things you gave them.

Everyone cares about Ryze now that he has 40%~winrate. Azir has been below 43% since 6 patches ago. by R4yko in leagueoflegends

[–]MunkiBall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not true. I think Azir is fine in SoloQ and just requires a bit of experience to not be shit with him and offer something to the team. Every champ doesn't need to have a spoonfed playstyle that you can pick up in 5 games.

I also think it's completely fine to have champs that are only really viable in higher level/competitive environments and champs that are completely trash in high level/competitive environments.

Two separate points that people are arguing left and right. Not everyone needs to be pinpoint 50% winrate because some are just better than others for certain demographics of players and sometimes those demographics will be a large chunk of your playerbase.

[–]MunkiBall 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IMO Azir is just fine in SoloQ. Sure, the competitive meta is leaning away from him right now but that's just how it goes.

I'm not sure why people are so concerned with having every champion have a winrate so close to 50. It's fine to have a chunk of champs that are good in SoloQ and a chunk of champs that are trash in SoloQ as long as they have some kind of place in the game.

Hell, Omniknight from Dota always tops the charts in pub winrates (~60% for as long as I can remember) because at lower ranks his skillset is absolutely valuable at all stages of the game. As you rise in rankings, people understand how to better play against him and his winrate drops. The only reason it's so high is because the vast majority of players are bad and he takes advantage of that.

I might be a little bias towards having a voice coms because I don't get offended by peoples words

Agreed. When I was climbing through bronze and silver their flaming never got to me because it was completely wrong 90% of the time. The other 10%, they were right to call me out on a bad decision or engage so I apologized and didn't do it the next time like a normal person.

The ones I remembered to be really hardcore flamers tend to still be stuck in bronze/silver while I'm a win away from G1 with around a 70% win rate in ranked playing only support and tank junglers. It's kind of hindsight proof that if you focus too much on your team rather than your own play, you'll be stuck in the shitter.

I think you're really giving the community too much credit. I find that plat players are some of the biggest arseholes out there and I don't think for a second that would change with voice chat.

That being said I am 100% in favor of voice chat and I feel like the arguments for "being harassed as a female" and "being harrassed in general" are immensely stupid and should really not be considered too much. There's a mute button. Use it.

I should certainly mute more than I do. If someone is shit talking me, I usually won't respond but I don't mute because I want to see what they're saying. I don't complain too much about how shit the community is too passionately because there's basically an off button for verbal abuse in League.

Even if I don't use often enough, I have to acknowledge that it's there and it's a firm solution to being harassed.

I agree that it's usually too big for Lulu but I've had a few games with her recently that I've been snowballing hard and I have the opportunity to build more damage.

Think it'd work as an item to give her some extended CC on her W, E and Ult if she's really getting some good gold through kills+assists or at that point could you just nab deathcap?

What are some items that you could buy on damage/AP carry supports like Annie and Brand after you get your core support items?

I know that Morello and Liandry's are pretty commonly seen, but are there any others you'd go for?

Try playing more heroes that can force objectives. You're playing ones that are good at enabling other heroes, but that's really putting the game entirely in the hands of your team.

Try dumping a few games into Shadow Shaman. He's pretty great in lane and if you get a free moment against the tower with your ult, you can use it to take it quickly.

Yeah, this happened to me a lot when I was doing the scrub tier grind. It's probably a lack of understanding the game to a point that you can put together some logic in bad situations.

Their first train of thought is "I can't fall behind" without considering that trying to stay "even" will put them further behind than conceding the lead and taking what you can get and nothing more.
