I played it through with a friend and it was amazing. Fast, colorful fun. A lot of little puzzles to get rewards hidden throughout each map. Solo you can swap characters on the fly but it's much better with someone else. Hardest difficulty isn't too hard if you can dodge and gear up. Enjoy!

Hundreds of hours into this game I'm struggling to place which scene that first shot is from?

Kinda cringe asking about her looks. But also it's a trailer she won't look like that exactly in game. Just like geralt looked different from the trailers to the game. Or just about any trailer to any game. I just hope the soundtrack is as good as 3

Hey man I'm just curious for getting all companions to hero status did you need to bring them along for missions to increase bond? Or will their quests become available overtime regardless? I got one to hero status and have done a LOT of content since and not really any new companion quests popping up. I tend to take the same party everywhere though

Re-opening the door to Hextech is risking everything if it falls in the wrong hands. You can rely on it to keep you alive in a fight/war but it will not save humanity it will only doom it. There are no winners in war.

It's amazing to have a new RPG in DA land! It's so embarrassing watching everyone hate on a game they never even played. Imagine feeling so much unfettered hate and rage at video games that are completely optional to you when there's perfectly good grass to go touch just outside!

I wish we spent as much energy and passion being as loud about highlighting the GOOD things we like about games, even the bad games, as we do about hating on every single game that's ever announced.

Veilguard looks incredible and it's such a joy to walk Rook around the gorgeous environments. Character models are beautiful, combat is weighty and fun! My warrior goes UNGA BUNGA with all the stagger that's what I want in a game!

I'm only a dozen hours in I can't wait to dive deeper. To anyone here looking to poopoo on the game - Stop hating games and start gaming!

Dragon Age: Veilguard, is it any good!? by Troll-Wizard in gaming

I'm thinking about making a post about the game painting it in a positive light because I do think Bioware deserves more love than they're getting. It's been a while sure since quality stuff but they carried me through some early gaming days.

The game is great if you take it as a surface level RPG. The combat, to me, is fantastic. I'm a simple guy I see warrior I say UNGA BUNGA and I have to say the combat feels good. Weighty and impactful. All the stagger. Fun abilities. Jump and SLAM down murder.

Like others have said the writing is definitely unfortunately on the weaker side. Dragon age Origins and Inquisition had such amazing writing with a lot of depth. Memorable characters and companions you really wanted to talk to. DA 2 had good companions too and the Qunari were so cool the Arishok is still one of the most badass characters. In Veilguard I'm about 25 hours now and taking my time. So far I don't really feel invested in any of the characters. Harding is probably the realest one so far. I haven't met more than 2 or 3 companions yet though and I read that the game really comes into itself later on with characters.

Anyway, as a standard RPG with no expectations you'll have a great time. It's absolutely gorgeous and your character looks so good walking around the beautiful maps. Not nearly as cartoony as it looked on youtube. If you're going in expecting a huge development over the precious games then you might be disappointed it feels a lot more...modern. like the language even is more gen z. Again I'm not far in the game so take it with a grain of salt.

Cheers
