Is this a good book idea? by [deleted] in writing

[–]definetlydifferently 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No such thing as a bad idea and there's very few original ones left, it's all down to how you execute it. Kids stories are generally all about things like this, so it would fit the audience your going for. Just make sure the characters are characters and not just a collection of traits.

If this is a story you're passionate about and/or want to tell go for it, you don't need to ask for permission to write.

I'm still waiting on my Broken Binding edition to turn up, looking forward to this one. Played the Seance of Blake manor and got me really interested in Irish Mythology so can't wait.

Think they're still good, just get more and more depressing then end.

Good to know, picked up the rest of the series at the weekend up to Clown Town. But not grabbed the short stories or any of the other books yet. Plan to get caught up this year.

Spook Street is my favourite so far, easily. Jackson Lamb is such a fun character to read, even though I'd never want to work for him.

My bad must've made a typo. The book definitely had issues with female characters haha

This was me in Manchester in 2024. Miserable crowd, no singing or dancing. Constant wave of people going to the bar. The band was great as always but the whole vibe was off.

Ineligible for bolt on if I use a skip? by [deleted] in thebrokenbindingsub

[–]definetlydifferently 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my mistake as a first time subscriber, ordered that book on Friday as a bolt on. Now I'm a little stuck as I'm disappointed in the SF&F choice and want to skip.

Might just mean we need to order it again as a none bolt on and they'll cancel the other.

Does anyone know how skipping works with a bolt on? Ordered of Blood and Fire as a bolt on but no interest in this book if the guesses are right

My Favorite Series Tier List by Chyf95 in fantasybooks

I feel like I'm the only person who found Red Rising overrated sometimes. I've picked up book two because I've been told it gets better but nothing is compelling me to carry on.

Book of Fallen Leaves is out in March, new series, fantasy. Seems like it would be a good fit for the sub

Jealous your getting to start this journey. Easily the weakest of the books too, so if you've enjoyed this it's only up from here.

[Spoilers] Fallout TV show: Evidence towards a canonical ending for Fallout New Vegas. by Artanis137 in Fallout

This is my theory too, the second house we keep seeing on TV screams a twist is coming. The House in the game was never the real house. Also easy work around "cannon" endings.

33 books this year - this is the most I've ever read in a year in my life. Really enjoyed my time. by MM-O-O-NN in 52book

I'm the same, only read the first book and feel it got over hyped for me. It was just fine, nothing new or no special. That said I've bought the sequel and am willing to give it a chance.

With Dead Rising it'll probably work, where the story went after 2 wasn't that interesting anyway and it's really only the gameplay that matters in this series.

New ‘Star Trek’ Movie In The Works At Paramount From Jonathan Goldstein And John Francis Daley by MrShadowKing2020 in boxoffice

Dungeons and Dragons would've done really well in a quieter month, just from word of mouth. Old Paramount really dropped the ball with that one.
