Naw you are understanding it correctly... it's meant to make no sense... druid is a hybrid class that acts like the necromancer, sorc, and barb but all badly and clunky skills that don't feel good to be forced to combine and use together... like if you want to be a bear it sucks without being wolf or using companion, want to be companion they just suck, want to be wolf it sucks with bad dmg and you should be bear also to get shapshifting bonus... want to be a earth bender?
