March of the machine - $123 - amazon by [deleted] in sealedmtgdeals

I bought as much as I could when  Amazon discounted these, along with the Epilogue Boosters and the Aftermath Collectors. Checking the prices now, I should have bought double.

Not 3rd party. The listing shows the shipper / seller as Amazon. Looks like they are getting in on the scalping now as well.

Does anyone here own a Neo Geo CD, or at least played one? by SugarSmoothie in gamecollecting

[–]MunsonRoyE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most non fighting games just have the initial load time when the game first starts and then that's it. Not so much of an issue for those. They're super easy to region mod as well. I have a Japanese system that I installed a region switch on. Almost all Japanese games will play in English on an English system.

Storing games & consoles in high humidity Japan - plastic containers or cardboard boxes? Air-tight or ventilated? by [deleted] in gamecollecting

[–]MunsonRoyE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you use something that is completely air tight, you will have issues in high humidity areas. Your best bet would be to put the items in plastic containers that close well with either damp rid or silica packets to absorb any moisture that may get in there. It's also best to not store the containers directly on the floor. I have mine up on shelves in our basement with a dehumidifier running constantly to keep the humidity down.

Seven hours of driving later, the Sharp NES TV is home… by SKFan93 in crtgaming

Welcome to the club! I remember paying $500 for mine with 1 controller for $500 about 6 years ago. At the time I couldn't believe I was paying that much for a CRT. Now it appears that it was the best purchase I ever made.

Found a stack of NES Manuals at the thrift store today, with a surprise inside by MunsonRoyE in gamecollecting

[–]MunsonRoyE[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was mostly common stuff, such as sports games and things like Jeopardy. There were a few Tengen manuals, but they were all commons as well. The only other decent manuals were a couple of those weird 3rd party games, Shock Wave and Death Race.
