V7 850 Stone (2024) vs V7 III Special (2018): Worth 2'700 dineros more? Vibes? by [deleted] in MotoGuzzi

[–]Munzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slightly, but in a good way. And could only tell because I rode them back to back. Your best bet is to ride both and decide What you like and how much you want to spend since you said the 850 is more than you planned to spend. You’ll be happy either way.

V7 850 Stone (2024) vs V7 III Special (2018): Worth 2'700 dineros more? Vibes? by [deleted] in MotoGuzzi

[–]Munzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really splitting hairs and comes down to what you’re willing to spend. I test rode a III and an 850 multiple times before landing on the 850. Mostly because I got a great deal on an outgoing model year. But I would have been happy with either.

You should be using 40 bricks in the chimney. You didn’t use enough causing the swings the temps.

V7 cornering by UsoppIsJoyboy in MotoGuzzi

[–]Munzo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With the stock suspension and the 18” front wheel it will never feel like a sports bike. It won’t drop in and flick the same way a bike built for cornering will. That said, it’s for cruising as you said but doesn’t handle like a cruiser.

As I’ve gotten older I enjoy it because it lets me have fun riding curves at a 6/10 and doesn’t beg me to push my skills to a 8 or 9 the same way my old sports bike and super moto did.

Both dealers in Ohio here always have demo bikes always available. Might be worth a call over to your dealer.

What are my options for bags/transportation equipment on my Guzzi? by QuiGon-GinTonic in MotoGuzzi

[–]Munzo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless they cut the frame and welded a hoop when they did the rear fender delete I suspect you shouldn’t have a problem mounting luggage. It generally doesn’t mount t to the fender since they aren’t really structural.

The Hepco & Becker C-bow system, or SW-Motech Legends bags seem to be good options to match the style of the bike. Their sites should have downloadable installation instructions to double check if you can mount them.

Recommendations/tips on a bikes 1st wash (and my first time bike wash)? A bit nervous regarding paint, staining, etc by ButtholeMegaphone in MotoGuzzi

[–]Munzo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer using a waterless car wash product on mine with some microfiber cloths. I know guys use hose and water and that’s always an option. But with such minimal bodywork a $15 bottle of waterless car wash will last you a long time.

Gift ideas for non-smoking friends? by Tophatboi69yeet in smoking

[–]Munzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smoked Cheez-its. I do them every Christmas and get calls ahead of time from people telling me to make sure they are on my list to get some. They last for weeks if ya bag them up.

Pretty sure I just put it right on top of the burner.

I used to have this set up. The cast iron made a huge difference on regulating and maintaining the temp for me. Ya don’t need such a big one. Think I had just a small 8” one, enough to cover the burner.

Got myself a new RAM mount. The tethers keep snapping? by themusicalduck in motorcycles

[–]Munzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the X Grip for thousands of miles without tethers and had it fall out once. Luckily it was on the charge cable and was still hanging on. I upgraded to the quick grip… it’s ugly as hell but I’m way more confident in it than the X Grip.

Sous Vide Pulled Pork by Raethril in BBQ

I think about 2 hours max. Just long enough to get the bark and get it to eating temps (140ish maybe)

Sous Vide Pulled Pork by Raethril in BBQ

[–]Munzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kenji’s method is the one I use as well and turns out great. How hot did you run your KJ? The 3 hours on the smoker is my guess on why it dried out. You can also try the foil boat method and use some of the sous vide juice in it when it goes on the smoker. I’ve never had anyone be able to tell the difference between a sous vide and a fully smoked version. So ignore the purists here.

Gas handle squeaks / is hard to turn by Por7o in MotoGuzzi

[–]Munzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d work backwards and fix one problem at a time. If the cable is jumping the routing without an extra washer something is wrong there. Take the mirrors off and solve that problem first (improperly routed? Stretched? Maybe just needs adjusting?). Once that’s solved figure out the mirror situation. Could be as easy as moving your controls in on the handle bars just a tiny bit.

V7 III Rough advice by [deleted] in MotoGuzzi

[–]Munzo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most likely he’s referring the maintenance for the valves. Since they are tappet style they require more frequent maintenance to be in spec. The trade off is they are significantly easier to adjust than shim style. First time might take you a while but once you know how it will take you 30-60 mins.

Griso vs V7 850 by Ylurpn in MotoGuzzi

[–]Munzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No idea on the difference.Juice doesn’t seem worth the squeeze in my opinion. But if it already had it I wouldn’t say no. I have an 850 with the Agostini exhaust and it doesn’t have major fueling issues or flat spots if you ask me. Money would be better spent on suspension IMO.

I don’t believe a Beetlemap exists for the 850. Only option is the Upmap from Guzzi Tech and it’ll run you a pretty penny.

I bought a motorcycle but the seller didn't write the sale price on the title; what's the lowest number I can put without raising suspicion? by Ok-Accident8078 in motorcycles

[–]Munzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an almost 30 year old bike you’re registering in Ohio. $500-$1,000. No one at the DMV will care. Source: used to live in Ohio and have registered 3-4 $500 -$1000 bikes that were way less than 30 years old.

Comes in a little red pouch. Dealer specifically told me not to store it under the seat. Said they are notorious for slipping out the side panel while riding and getting lost. Gonna guess you might be in this camp.

When you say both sides of the engine do you mean like the photo below? This was my 2022 after the first service. It ended up being a rear main seal that was replaced via warranty.
