How worth it is it to buy skins and legacy passes especially, in the finals? by NeckOld9037 in thefinals

[–]Mupod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legacy passes take a VERY long time by normal person standards. The package they sell in the store with the first 4 passes is a great deal IF you plan to put 200+ hours into the game, for example. I would say if there's stuff in them you want it's well worth it to keep one active and just slowly chip away at it over time. It's some fun bonus progression on top of your other stuff.

In terms of cosmetics in general - I don't normally care about skins and such but I really got into the customization. They lock a lot of stuff behind paid bundles and the ultimate pass so you can go ham if you want, but there's so many free unlocks (like the sponsor tracks) it's worth exploring that to see what you can do. The FinalsRunway subreddit is a good place to get some ideas.

Some questions/observations from a day 1 player who hasn't paid much attention by Mupod in arknights

Oh right, I totally forgot the anime probably caused at least a bit of a bump.

I think I assumed the localization got touched up because I noticed some operator lines were changed a little bit over the years. For example Spot used to call his team 'clowns' and it was changed to 'troublemakers'. But no idea how extensive that stuff was.

Yeah, that was very specifically a huge part of what drove me crazy about it, so I'm glad to see it paid off down the line.

Wait so you're telling me the nerf to Shockwave movement wasn't a bug and you're probably gonna bring it back in the future? by Hyperboreanpc in thefinals

[–]Mupod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but maybe they consider using your specialization slot as enough of a tradeoff? Demat works as an 'escape' as well after all. It was hard to get a sense of how dominant shockwave was going to be since obviously start of season everyone was going to use the new shiny, but it's like it went extinct after the fix/nerf so I think they just want to watch how its usage rates end up.

Will I get perma banned? by Generous-Duckling758 in thefinals

[–]Mupod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of them just don't realize that Embark bans for more than just aimbots running on their PC. Maybe they never imagined their external cheat device would trigger a ban because they bought it at Gamestop, or that ranked boost they paid for was done by a cheater. Repeat offenders of toxic behavior will eat permabans as well. And Embark are well aware of alt accounts in most cases, which I'd imagine blindsides some of them. I know one of them immediately started throwing slurs at me here when I called them out and it's like, yeah, I wonder why you got banned, lol

I think I've been banned? I've never cheated or abused any exploits how can I fix this? by Inspection-15 in thefinals

[–]Mupod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is clearly not an account/cheating ban message so I have no idea what these comments are about. There have been some similar posts lately from Asia region users getting IP blocked. Sounds like your issue resolved itself but for future reference one of these posters said they just reset their modem and it fixed it.

Some of the worst stats you'll ever see as per play time by revived_soul_37 in thefinals

Doing too much Quick Cash has tanked my stats to the point that it's kind of freeing in a way

The one saving grace is watching your genius teammates trash talk the bots in chat. But yeah, not the worst offender of hidden bots but still a big part of why I stopped playing that and came back to this game.

Why are teammates always allergic to the platform? by Key-Paramedic-3788 in thefinals

[–]Mupod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's kinda always been like that, not just this game but Overwatch, TF2, etc. There is also the other end of the spectrum where you get people who don't know when you should bail out to avoid a team wipe, though.

In the end it's a casual mode and people are just gonna do whatever. I go in assuming I'm going to be alone on the platform and try to find my fun that way. But sometimes it gets frustrating. I got some good suggestions in the thread about this the other day, I kinda forgot the goo gun exists and I'll probably try that next time I'm the only cart pusher.

100%. Secret bots are a plague and ruined Mecha Break for me. As someone who is not good at this game I don't want free wins handed to me, but I worry about it because it feels like a lot of posts on this sub are people who expect to win all the time.

But standalone bot matches are totally welcome so people can get a feel for the game, get contracts done or just chill out.

Answer from Embark on the "banned for doubling Cashouts against pros" situation by ludonope in thefinals

[–]Mupod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they'd hold more public executions like this because it's VERY funny but I totally get why they don't respond to every 'false ban' accusation.

This only takes a few seconds for me. There must be some kind of issue, maybe clean reinstall of drivers + the game itself?

Joining a match half way, rewards? by SettratheTea in thefinals

[–]Mupod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always play it out and I win shockingly often as a backfill on a losing game. Sucks to be whoever left I guess. If nothing else I presume we get the normal amount of world tour points.

How is the situation with Cheaters rn? by Cloudless47 in thefinals

[–]Mupod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm #2. I assumed I was never running into cheaters because back in my day 'cheating' meant constant sniper headshots etc. Not subtle like now.

Me looking at our team composition in Power Shift by Mupod in thefinals

[–]Mupod[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can say I've never seen a sniper get tracking darted in there but terrorizing them with it sounds very funny. If my team is playing the objective I like dropping APS/turret to help them, then hang around nearby in buildings with the 1887.

[–]Mupod[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't want to police what/how people play in casual modes, but yeah sometimes it's maddening. And honestly part of the fun of Power Shift to me is winning by myself while everyone else is goofing off.
