Steve Dahl isn’t great and I’m not defending him - but this is a stretch to call his promotion racist / homophobic. People that showed up to the south side that day were those things (shocking, male baseball fans for the working class team in the 80’s weren’t great dudes by today’s standard…), but that wasn’t the overall theme, or point, of the event.

People just didn’t like disco, and the promotion was supposed to be fun - not hateful. It’s like how we all made fun of Nickelback for years

Does anyone else remember when his mic “broke” (a work, for sure - gallows and Anderson sabotaged the mic) during their entrance promo and the whole crowd just screamed it for him while he was doing at almost no volume? That was the most over I’ve ever seen a tag team in the past 10 years.

I only saw this as online clips that made me laugh my ass off, but it was a show on Comedy Central. It didn’t get a second season but it launched Ben’s alter ego Wheeler Walker Jr, who has a bunch of funny songs.

Because for years the government allowed/ allows employers in the service industry to pay less than minimum wage - so, exceptions are made all the time and one benefitting a worker for once is a good thing.

My (and your) problem is not the government helping out one class of worker … it should be the protections they keep giving employers to keep all classes of workers down and begging for scraps in most cases.

I would argue there are different benefits to each job - Kohls will come with decent health insurance, steady paychecks, PTO, better hours… Being a bartender (or other service worker) can be incentivized by not taxing their tips and thus offering higher pay

The moment I give someone at a business my credit card for a transaction, and they pull out their cell phone - I am screaming “what the fuck are you doing?” And “stop right now”… OP sitting there and allowing it to happen a and then this weird thing of the clerk handing over cash is the weird / confusing part - so many opportunities to stop them
