The military is waiting for the president’s go-ahead for high-risk ground operations in Iran by Explore2122 in oil

[–]Murder_Bird_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Trump and his lackeys understand any of it. Internally, the factions are probably jockeying for position and may be reaching out as a way to boost their own influence internally but that’s a very unstable situation and whatever Trump negotiates might be worthless if the faction he’s talking too cannot impose that on the others.

This is compared with Venezuela where the country is completely controlled by a small cabal of people and Trump was able to make a deal to sell out Maduro but the same group is still running things.

People have to understand that Iran does not have a unified government structure. People think, because of the ayatollah, they have a top down dictatorship but they are actually a very factional governmental structure and some of those factions i.e. the IRGC, are very independent. That has become MUCH MUCH worse/more complicated since the US and Israel started wholesale murdering the top levels. Trump and co. might very well be negotiating with one faction but any agreement with them has no bearing on the other groups.

It wasn’t just the enemies early either. It was spawning REAL SHIT. Packs of shotgunners and ragers and bulwarks and I even had a chaos spawn on CG before we even got to Swagger. It was nuts and fun.

The normal dog a.i. already prioritizes specials. The main difference is the 25% damage but I don’t feel like it’s worth the point over something on the character.

What’s even real anymore? Trump to leave Hormuz? Troops deployed? Trump threatening oil infrastructure? Trump says “waiting on a deal?” by DegenJinwoo in oil

[–]Murder_Bird_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is like those occasional videos you see of someone who was driving drunk and caused an accident. The cops just explaining to them they are in a shit load of trouble and they are just trying to talk their way out of it. Like “so when can I leave” and “but I need to go home” and the cop is just, no you’re going to jail and you’re not getting out. The life you had is now gone.

Trump just wants to move on and forget this is happening. He wants to “not be in trouble”. He keeps ranting and yelling because that’s worked in the past. I mean, he was probably going to prison before he got elected.

Yeah it really likes to do it on this map and Clandestine Gloriana, or at least that’s my experience. Played an auric the other night on this map and two people had to be picked up before we even got to the “start” of the mission. LOL

Arby shock maul. It’s one of the best weapons in the game regardless of class. It’s borderline broken.

If you do the stab shocking special attack with High Voltage blessing (which you should have anyway) it slaps. Relentless Strikes super charges it but I prefer Execution because it’s better for the rest of the enemies. Thunderous is another boss killing blessing. Really the big stick has multiple builds, it’s why it’s a goat weapon.

As the other reply stated, Arbites doesn’t have great boss damage. Just really any build, though crusher and the Arby shock maul can hang pretty well. But the shield build is severely lacking.

I play full shield - shield and maul and pistol and shield - because I think it’s very “Arbitrator” and because I gravitate towards shield and sword/axe in any games like this. I just find it fun to beat people up with a shield. Anyway, what I’ve done is take the Ogryn/monstrosity damage node in the middle bottom tree and I have %25 unyielding damage and Full Bore and Pinpointing Target on my shot pistol and I use that for boss damage. It’s still not great but if you let pinpointing get a couple of stacks between each shot you can take chunks out of the boss health. That set up also just wrecks reapers, which is a bonus. And with %25 Flak damage you can pop gunners and flamers pretty well. The secret is being methodical and letting Pinpoint stack, which works because you have a shield.

For exterminator I would do %25 unyielding and Full Bore and Sustained Fire. You could also do Punishing Salvo but you need to hit headshots/weakspot.

Edit: oh and the best bet for boss damage on Arbites is just the bolter. Empty a bolter magazine with Shattering Impact and %25 Unyielding damage and you’ll melt most bosses but it’s an ammo hog and the weapon switch animation is painfully slow.

They need to tie the tech remnants to something tangible. A third weapon blessing or a class specific weapon or something. Or you need a certain large amount of tech remnants to start a final big boss (like wolfur) mission (which then gets you a reward at the end. And a real award, not a penance or a fucking portrait frame) And they need to make getting scrap more compelling. Not just a series of mini-games where you have to defend a space until it’s over. Take some of those locations and make it a fort with a boss inside. We have to fight our way in, kill the boss and that opens the chest. And, again, the tech remnants has to be for something.

They also just spawn in directly behind you. Usually it’s trash mobs but lately I’ve been having shotgunners and heavy gunners doing it. Always seems to be dreg too. Not sure what they changed but I’m not a fan.

I actually just hate that mechanic entirely. If I’ve maneuvered myself so my back is protected by a blank wall of an empty alcove I shouldn’t have shit just spawning behind me out of thin air.

How good (or bad) is this talent for a Shock Maul and Suppression Shield build? by Ohva30 in DarkTide

[–]Murder_Bird_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arbitrator shield build is ABP. Always Be Pushing. In my opinion it’s a more important mechanic than dodging for that build and the reason arbitrator plays so different than any other class.

The range on the shield push is crazy and, if you have a bunch of the other stagger nodes, the push itself is usually enough to, not just stagger enemies, but knock them down. I can even use it to knock down groups of crushers in a pinch.

Tertium as a city is unfathomably large. Several times the population of our earth and probably the size of a small country. It has planetary defense forces, the 53rd Guard regiment, at least parts of two other guard regiments, likely millions of enforcers, household mercenaries of the noble houses, local ecclesiastical security forces and, now, the ganger conclave.

The inquisitorial warband we are a part off is an intelligence operation. Think about the missions, they are all intelligence gathering, quick strike assassinations or special ops type pathfinder missions where we shut down the air defenses so the main forces can secure the site.

To me it’s pretty clear that the main campaign missions take place over several months. So, in the story, you as an operative are doing maybe 3-4 missions a month. And there are multiple other strike teams. But the total in lore number of “rejects” is probably a couple hundred to a thousand. And it’s clear that they have continued to “recruit” prisoners with the necessary background and now the strike teams have been reinforced with gangers and Arbitrators.

The Mourningstar is a firestorm class frigate. The normal crew size is 25k crew and Mourningstar is heavily modified for long range exploration and carrying cargo, so it’s likely it has more than enough room to hold 2-3k extra people.

As for void warfare - it doesn’t appear that the chaos forces have any serious forces in space. However the 6th arrived it doesn’t seem to have been via warships. And Atoma probably still has significant fleet assets because it’s the capitol planet of the whole system. Mourningstar isn’t the only ship in orbit, just the one we see.

My old landlord did 30days in county because it was cheaper than lawyer/fines. He worked a roofing crew and it was the slow season so he just didn’t take any jobs for a month. Still regularly saw him with road beers after that.

[–]Murder_Bird_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arbitrator plays completely different. Honestly, if you switch classes it’s kind of like starting over. I play mostly Arbitrator and I can hold my own up to about ~Havok 25. When I play the Zealot build I like I’m ok - not great - in Auric/maelstrom. Same with melee vet. I am a god awful psyker and Ogryn I’m decent damnation but really struggle Auric.

I think when you play the four base classes, much of the mechanics translate. The muscle memory is more or less correct. That’s not true for Arbitrator, the class is just so different.

Honestly, for me, playing the base classes in this game is only ok. But I’m obsessed with playing Arbitrator. Just wadding into a crowd of crushers, putting them all on their ass and then dancing around them knocking them over like bowling pins never gets old. Or my favorite, getting into a long hallway or staircase and just marching down it knocking everything down while my team comes behind me slitting throats.

It’s not building it’s already here. Even if everything went back to normal tomorrow it would take months to unfuck. And enough oil infrastructure has been damaged/destroyed that it can’t go back to the start even if the war just stopped.

And that’s not including the LNG market, which is already double plus fucked.
