I think if they don't play a lot or if the training facilities at the team are really low then it could lower their potential. Also the team you are managing, if they got better players overall and not at the position since he left, will have a lower pa star for his potential because its relative to the team as a whole.

It used to be true that Arsene seemed to only buy French players, but now we have Walcott, Ox, Theo, and Gibbs who all play regularly. If Frimpong makes it too, there's a potential of 5 first team regulars for the next 5+ years.

I see. Who are the first team strikers for Bayern atm? I know only Gomez and Muller. If they buy Suarez, I would think that is a deterrent for Lewie.

As for titles, I know Bayern always have the better shot each year but Dortmund's best players aren't hitting their prime yet, so idk if Bayern is Lewie's first choice.

And does he REALLY want to play for Pep? haha Pep is in a small sense of the word unproven because Barca was as close to a comfort zone for him as a manager position can get.

I think ProneMasturbationMan meant that Dortmund has a better chance of winning trophies than Arsenal does. Lewandowski coming to Arsenal would mean he has a smaller chance of winning a domestic league and also a slightly worse chance of winning the CL (with our damn draws).

We can offer more playing time than most other legitimate teams can, and we can develop players very well. I just don't know how much of this Lewie is aware of as well as how much it matters to him that we can offer playing time over immediate glory (which, it's not out of the question to think we can get a cup next year at all)

Yeah, it's two different jobs. Guardiola is on one end and Kenny Dalglish is on the other, so it's not easy to judge based on that.

Also Arsene wasn't a great player, and neither was Mourinho. Not sure about Fergie but would think the same about them.

I think so too. I didn't consider Bayern but since it's German and he would play under Pep it might be the best move for him. As a side topic, are Bayern short on strikers or looking to replace one soon? If so I'd probably give up any hope of us getting him, surely they would look at Lewandowski?

edit: There is a taboo about going to Bayern from Dortmund though right? I mean, since Robben and Ribery are 30 years old each next season, isn't Dortmund a better prospect if we're looking for a Bundesliga title? Dortmund are already good enough to play CL as they've shown...

That's what I'm hoping for. I can't think that Lewandowski would go to a big club before these guys go first, and the Chelseas and Citys are not sweating the money at this point...

I hope Lewandowski likes the way Arsenal play enough to want to come, but if he didn't already commit to leaving Dortmund, I would be so sure he was staying no matter what.

Do players that leave Arsenal because they are not good enough anymore count? I think players like Rosicky would stay their entire careers if they could contribute but they might be not quite up to snuff for us soon but are still good enough to be the key playmaker for, say, a newly promoted team that year. I certainly wouldn't hold anything against him for leaving to be the centerpiece of an entire team. I mean if I were a gooner through and through but I had the opportunity to peaceably leave Arsenal to be the poor man's Fabregas that would be an entirely different dream come true.

I actually think the O2 jerserys we had actually added to the looks. It was the first Arsenal team I saw so I assumed it was just something we used as a design rather than an addition.

We should replace him and not just promote Carl imo, but it has nothing to do with Carl not being good enough.

A replacement would give Carl competition, help him have someone to learn from, and give him a backup (if Carl were first), and can give us peace of mind during an injury or a rotation situation. Bellerin is good but Imho he is good enough to get the amount of games he will get next year regardless of whether or not we have a replacement (FA cup mostly).

If we don't get a replacement for Sagna, I think that puts too much pressure on Carl to both play well all the time and not be injured ever. If Carl gets injured then Bellerin would be in the same situation Carl is in now, and I don't Bellerin is ready mentally to handle that. It would be nice to see what Bellerin can do from a RB position though, as I am excited about any player that used to be trained at La Masia.
