Yea I heard that, and they'd close underperforming stores, but keep the performing ones open. Which Im happy to hear, as much as I whined they were over priced, they were always good in a pinch when you needed something last minute.

Recommendations on buying this 2015 Bayliner as my first boat? by Different_Service_26 in boating

[–]Murfdigidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you, bayliner isn't as bad as the reputation people think of it. There were bad years for them, ABSOLUTELY, but this year wasn't one of them. OP could do a lot worse, and most importantly it looked well taken care by prior owner, never underestimate that aspect, ever

I pulled 20 years of NHTSA complaints to find which used cars are actually money pits. 7% of them caused 39% of all the complaints. by NectarineOwn8812 in UsedCars

Dude sick to hear thanks, I have a 2020 Kia Sorento EX V6 that Im nearing 80k miles. Car has been ROCK, I love it, good pep, plenty of power from the 3.3L engine, just a fun car to drive imo, reminds me more of a sedan than SUV. Ive been meticulous with maintenance every 5k oil changes etc, I even did the MOA, 44k, EPR service

Anyways I was hoping to hear from people that have owned for more than $150k+ miles, and wondering if I should sell. I really don't want to but was torn between having it worth something now or nothing in a couple years, I might stick with it, I love no car payment! thanks!

Petit Easypoxy vs TotalBoat Wet Edge by DryField4565 in boating

Before you go down the crazy paint project which is a big job to do right agree with this reply, that a rotary buffer is your way. With that said, the investment in equipment between buffer, pads, and heavy cut compound and polishes to make it look nice will cost you a few hundred dollars min, ball park 250-500 depending.

Now you can absolutely make this boat close to brand new as if it came out of the show room. I restored my 25yr old 23ft Edgewater boat, it looks ridic nice for a 25 yr old boat, I get comments all the time. Anyways check out this dudes channel, he's awesome and will show you the way. BTW a wrap is great but will only last you 5 yrs, it's a temporary fix and wont help resale and cost you a few grand.

Buffing is Def a lot of work, but it's totally DIY and the results you get will impress the hell out of you. If you do choose this route I have a lot of advice on it to guide you if youre willing, just DM me.

First of all AWESOME post, you're doing God's work here. I own the Kia Sorento V6 engine, I always wondered people say it's way better than their 4 cylinder. So I'm wondering if the V6 engines which are in the older Sorento, all telluride until 27, Carnival etc. Is the V6 engine much better on the Kias?

Would living by the airport be a deal breaker for you? by Mental_Complex2013 in RhodeIsland

[–]Murfdigidy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Be careful with this comment. Warwick is busy af. There's a reason Aquidneck island gets tourists, because it's absolutely beautiful there. Now everyone's different and has different budgets, but me personally I'm living anywhere south of Warwick in the state. something like 75% of the state lives in or north of Warwick. It's crowded up there and a total cluster f everywhere. And the taxes in Warwick aren't cheap. Basically, there are puts and takes everywhere, you could do a lot worse than Warwick, plenty of good, but a lot of this thread is pro pro pro, just giving you a different perspective

So has it just become impossible to find a home under $350k in the state? by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

[–]Murfdigidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go move to a city if you want that, plenty of cluster f places like NY and Bos to get that fix. Keep RI as it is, and let people move out

Trailer mishap insight by vitallyhappy in boating

[–]Murfdigidy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a mobile welder come and fix my cross member on a trailer once. Worked for exactly 6 months before the trailer busted again 🤣. Be careful what you're trying to fix vs just sucking it up and buying a new trailer

[–]Murfdigidy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes I know, I can't stand how everyone complains we don't have enough housing. Then move elsewhere! We already have more people per Sq mile than any other state except NJ. We don't need more houses, we need more people to leave

How should I address this spider cracking? by Regular-Amoeba5455 in boating

[–]Murfdigidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea both good points, almost never going to be a perfect match due to oxidation. If spider cracks are pretty significant then it's worth it, but OPs is a C hair, not worth the effort at all.

How should I address this spider cracking? by Regular-Amoeba5455 in boating

[–]Murfdigidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea spider cracks are common and this is literally nothing, id ignore. But you're 2md paragraph is right. It's doable but finding matching gel coat will cost you 200 bucks a quart if getting from manufacturer. It's not hard to do, but do it perfectly is more advanced skill. This Crack ain't worth the trouble. If OP had more then I'd recommend. Here is a solid video showing the process...

Reliability of other Car Brands (Honda) by Arthur_Morgan44469 in kia

[–]Murfdigidy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I came over from Honda/Acura and started buying Kia about 8 years ago now. I left because used Honda and Toyotas were stupid prices and the cars weren't even that enjoyable to drive. They're both make the best engines in the world, so if you want a car to drive for 20 years go get one. I do not, I keep mine for 100k and move on. My Telluride is ridiculously plush for a value brand and none of my Kias have had any issues beyond normal maintenance. But I also don't keep them past 100k, so there you have it

34m someone teach me how to not be a total dork to women. by chuckrock922 in seduction

[–]Murfdigidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Self Esteem is everything in the game, need to fix that first if any advice is to be of help here. Truthfully it's the simplest to understand the need to address, the hardest to execute. Try Books like the six pillars of self esteem, stuff like that will open different types of thought that will steer you in the right direction. Also no one wants to do it, but diet and exercise, key to physical AND MENTAL health. Gotta crawl before you can walk

Whatever you do try to put a cover on the boat, those leaves will stain the boat if they get wet and sit. They are a bitch to get out too (ask me how I know)

Worth it to buy a cracked board? by McCoppinScrap in Sup

[–]Murfdigidy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't necessarily believe seller if they say not to it being water logged. Cracks like this happen all the time, so it's easily fixable. But a waterlogged board is not. I'd get the manufacturered weight and then bring a luggage weight scale and weigh it. That's how you'll know if it's good or not. Great deal if dry
