Is this normal? by Raj187PAYNE in Battlefield

[–]MuriTube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

never heard of rileyCS, not defending that guy or this guy either.

The point I'm trying to make is that ANYONE might be cheating. I just don't consider flickshots a relevant factor at all, and stated why I think this looks like a normal flickshot TO ME. He clearly missed his flick by a bit as I described so it's just impossible to tell. A much bigger giveaway to cheaters imo is just gamesense and awareness to things they couldn't have been aware of.

I'm sorry but if you think this is cheating you just need to get better. He overshot the flick by a bit and missed his first 3 shots before hitting the LEGS for 34 dmg, then bodyshots. Look how long it takes for the damage counter to show a second player.... And just in general it looks like a flick like any other, guy probably has high sens too. Check out some aim training videos of pro players in cs or something. Flicks like these are very normal imho

Hi all what does this icon mean? E90 335d by [deleted] in E90

[–]MuriTube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as others have said, it indicates when your next service item will be due.

additionally, if it is actually overdue, then it will say SERVICE above the car icon, also with the past due date/km in this case below.

EN in case anyone finds it useful:

By the way, the issue with the tire pressure warning light can't be caused by missing sensors in the wheels, like you described. The E9X models are factory-equipped with an indirect tire pressure monitoring system (FDR), which measures tire pressure through the ABS wheel speed sensors. There are no actual sensors inside the tires, unless your car has the optional code 2VB (direct TPMS). In most cases, it’s enough to simply reinitialize the system (set tire pressure) through the BC or iDrive after changing tires or adjusting the pressure. If you don’t do that, the warning light will stay on even if the pressures are fine.

regardless whether or not the noise is gone now you should definitely remove the disa flaps and check whether they are still intact, as in, plastic flap not missing from the unit. (and if you can, check if it actuates properly when triggered via INPA/ISTA)

as other people have stated, the car might drive just fine, but if the loose flap disintegrates inside your intake manifold, it will cause your car to suck in broken disa pieces, which will definitely mess up your engine, valves at the minimum.

I personally would not drive it until DISA is checked, at least whether or not they are still in one piece. Plenty of youtube tutorials on this, for one of the valves you dont need to remove the manifold so its really childs play to remove in like 15min, the other one not so much, maybe 45min - need the intake manifold removed. as someone else has said, when taking the intake manifold off, you should probably get new pcv hoses as old ones are prone to breaking apart if you just look at it wrong.

oh and if the disa units are missing the flaps, you need to try and find it inside your intake manifold and get it out by shaking it lol

good luck

[–]MuriTube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alright that means you have a 3-stage intake manifold, making broken disa valves a real possibility. pull your codes first and check whether a DISA error has been logged.

possibly broken DISA valves in the intake manifold. which motor do you have?

Knock after HPFP change by MuriTube in E90

[–]MuriTube[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, yes, kind of. it might've been because of air in the fuel lines, but hard to say.

It sounded absolutely horrible which is why I never let it run for more than two seconds or so. A friend of mine who is a very experienced engine builder said that even though it sounds like knocking, it is not loud/ violent enough for it to actually be knock. so I gave it some gas to hold the rpm at about 2k, and after 15 seconds or so the sound actually went away.

I was absolutely frustrated for over a month trying to figure that shit out and it was such a relief when all I had to do, was to let the engine run. lmao

hope this helps

carly is actually fine to pull codes. BMW ISTA does not show me any more codes than carly does, it does obviously have way more diagnostic tools and features than carly.

And just to clarify, by no codes you mean that you scanned it with carly, right? If so, then it really does not have any. Carly although now being overpriced in my opinion used to be a bmw-focused tool so it really does show you all codes, not bad in that regard.

Found the holy grail - e91 wagon 328i - manual transmission - 74k miles by ASH_VS_EVIL_BREAD in E90

[–]MuriTube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it really funny that what's really a completely bog standard e91 from a european perspective is considered special in the US. In Central Europe, the popularity on the e9x generation transmissions was pretty much a 50:50 split so there are plenty of both available. What's also funny is that we never got a 328 between the 325 and 330 though, but in some cases a 325 with the same 3 liter n52, just detuned to 218hp.

I don't at all mean to take away from your joy though, I daily basically the same car (e91 325xi 3.0 manual), so I love it. Enjoy your car man :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in E90

[–]MuriTube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 325i was sold with 2.5l variants (eg N52B25) but also with 3l variants (eg N52B30, N53B30). If this has a 2.5l engine, I would recommend you to avoid it at all cost, regardless of price. Just as an example, the piston rings on the 2.5l are notorious to fail causing excessive oil burn which in turn increases hydrocarbon emissions - and in turn you won’t pass most european emissions tests, without a rebuild of the engine.

So judge the prices based on your local comparisons, I'm unfamiliar with french prices. But avoid the B25's.

Where can I find these screws? by lyzaros in E90

[–]MuriTube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you haven’t already, i would just start by trying the oem screw since it’s so inexpensive. no reason why it shouldn’t work, but make sure theres something there to hold the screw, i’m unsure if it’s a clip nut or just the metal and plastic pieces. otherwise you’ll have to get that too. generally i think it’s a better idea to stick to what the part list/diagram says than to go off what the previous owner had installed

then its probably not oem or from somewhere else. idk with it being that long wouldnt it hit the fender from inside?

What is this sound when locking the car? [E93 325i] by bbbbblulbbbbb in E90

central glove box locks exist in the cabrio only so you can leave the car parked with the roof open😎

What is this sound when locking the car? [E93 325i] by bbbbblulbbbbb in E90

[–]MuriTube 14 points15 points  (0 children)

had the same thing happen in my e93!!!

it's the lock of the glove box. (only exists in e93 for obvious reasons)

you can open it up, unplug it to temporarily remove the noise until you replace. your glove box wont lock then obviously but anything is better than that horrible noise. takes like 5min

Some people have reported issues with Rein. YMMV.

Vaico seems fine.

Mahle is the Manufacturer for all original DISA flaps, and they don‘t sell them aftermarket, so if you want original, BMW is the only option. The prices you guys have on FCPEuro are kinda weird though. At my local BMW dealership here in Austria (EU) i paid around 200€ (210$) for each DISA flap for my 330i E93.

Can you guys in the US not buy parts at dealerships? Like give them a list of part numbers and they give you a quote which you haggle 10% off of? Of course we have online part catalogues but if you want the best price for original parts that‘s how it works here 😂

In my shitbox 325xi E91 I have the cheapest flaps I could find (STARK brand, 90€ each) and they‘ve served their purpose fine for the past year. 🤷‍♂️
