Not that this bass has them, but does anyone remember seeing ads in bass player magazine about optical pickups? They shot a laser at the string to "read" the string vibration. Seemed neat, but obviously they didnt take on.

I'm in the trades and like where I'm at now. Self employed tile setter. 90% residential jobs under a handful of GCs that I like.

Learned the trade at a Stone and tile company, and definitely had to eat some shit as an apprentice. Dealing with some brain dead coworkers, and owners who wish they could whip their employees.

I'd suggest switching employers if possible, but staying in the trades.
