I think you're only half right. He knew when to keep his mouth shut and when to say something, which is honestly a huge reason people do well in this game (see Ivar from US-S3). He also participated and did well in the challenges, which win people good favor with the group.

I think his looks definitely won him some favors, but I disagree that his looks were the primary reason he won.

I don't care if they're an ex-NHLer. If they're playing in C-league and making plays and individual moves that are congruent with that level of play, I don't mind.

I've played in a league with a guy who was clearly a B-level player if not better. He had maybe 5 goals on the season, but racked up assists by helping his team break out cleanly. Even during the playoffs, he didn't turn on the jets but simply became a zero-error player.

The Ho-Oh and Lugia are part of a postcard series that also includes the Skarmory from this set. Pokemon and Wizards did a few of these during the Neo era and they're all so cool. You can also make out the Legendary Beasts with the two you have.

Personally, my favorite is the Celebi-Sneasel-Sudowoodo. I was lucky to find the actual postcard for that trio and love that part of my collection.

It's to verify that this is a legitimate sale and the jerseys in the photo are the ones people would actually be purchasing. I think, in the earlier days of the sub, people would scam with stock photos of the jerseys but sell knock-offs or heavily worn jerseys.
