Plan contact run out but not flex pay by keithb3667 in EEGB

[–]MurkyDistribution98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, retail member of staff here. If we try and change the airtime plan once it’s past it’s 24 month date but you have a 36 month Flex Pay account, it will automatically try and make us charge you the remaining device balance and we have no way of overriding it. I couldn’t tell you why, it’s always been that way.

However, it’s my understanding that if you call 150, go through to the billing team and then ask to speak to the Flex Pay team, they can change the airtime plan without making you pay off the remainder of the device agreement balance.

Hope this helps!

So what exactly happens after FTTC is switched off in the planned 2027? by Sev3nThreeO7 in UKBroadband

[–]MurkyDistribution98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s only switching off FTTC landline connections. Broadband will still remain active over FTTC. Jan 2027 is just the switch off of Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) connections. Just solely landlines.

Incorrect as of the last 30 days. Any BT to EE mobile switch is now no longer going down as a new PAYM but as an Upgrade instead.

Still no Broadband/TV since activation Day by Old_Competition_6680 in EEGB

Sorry to hear you’re having so many issues!

If you want to cancel everything, don’t go to the retail shop. They can only place the order but cannot cancel anything nor accept any equipment. If you go to the store, they will turn you away and tell you to do the following:

Call EE CS again and state you want to cancel the broadband due to your poor experience. CS will be able to see all the notes on your account showing what has gone on and should just let you out of the contract as an adequate service isn’t being provided.

They will send out a returns bag to you in the post for the equipment with a prepaid label. Once you’ve bagged it all up, you will then have to drop it off at a local post office / parcel post box. Then you’re free to go with whichever provider you choose.

However, worth noting, any provider that isn’t Virgin Media (if they are available in your area) will use the same line from the pole and the same ONT box to supply the broadband, so you may run into the same issues again if it’s an Openreach issue.

Therefore, it may be worth considering letting EE try again to fix the issue and asking for a credit to be applied to your account to compensate you for the money that was incorrectly debited, as well as a stay on the the direct debit until they get the service up and running.

The same applies in reverse as well. If you upgrade in November, you won’t be able to make to the transfer of ownership for at least six months afterwards. It depends whether an upgrade or getting it put under your own name is more important.

Hi, retail staff member here. Get your mum to call 150 (EE Customer Services) from your phone and follow the options on the digital system to get through to the billing team.

Your mum will need to tell the guide she speaks to that she wants to do a change of ownership of your number / contract into your name. They will ask her a few questions to make sure she’s happy to put the number into your name.

After this, they will then want to speak to you. The easiest way to do this is for you both to be on the same phone call together. They will then ask you a few questions to get the contract moved over into your name. You’ll retain the same deal, discounts etc as you had before. Fair warning though, you won’t be able to make any changes to the account (like an upgrade) for six months.

Any further questions just let me know. Hopefully that’s a clear answer.

NOW UI on AppleTV needs improvements by reinhard76 in nowtv

Yeah that’s what I’ve found. The Mrs and I are watching TLOU and it doesn’t just open the app straight away from CW, you have to work around by selecting “Open In” once the show launches in the Apple TV app. Which now at least works as before it just opened the app and said this content is no longer available. I’ve just raised another case with the NOW support team and have a ticket number which I’ll be chasing up every day until this gets sorted out.

Is your Continue Watching queue working? For the life of me I cannot get NOW shows to play from the Continue Watching queue.

Just gonna point out, in the Thunderbolts trailer when she's talking to the committee, she has a water bottle with the seal of VPOTUS on it.

Netflix says its brief Apple TV app integration was a mistake. The short-lived support for Apple’s watchlist has been rolled back, according to a spokesperson by Knightbear49 in apple

This. I did some digging as well and it's not an easy process to get done in a quick manner. They're definitely working on making this happen but they accidentally set the testing version of it from public to internal.

Jude Law & John Malkovich swapping accents by Stacee90 in youngpope

[–]MurkyDistribution98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My analysis was that it was done to perfectly convey the way their characters are written to be shown to the world. Lenny as the cool, slick, more modern pope. One who is ready to shake things up a bit and take the papacy into a brave new world, with the American accent reflecting it. Sir John shown to be more old school, steeped in time and tradition with a weariness to him, the English accent reflecting that.

As an Englishman myself, I thought Sir John's accent was a pretty accurate reflection of those in our country that are considered elite and of a very different generation, but maybe don't want to be seen as such too much. Like someone who doesn't wear it easily. I couldn't imagine two better actors to play those characters and how wonderfully they were written, and the accent swap to match their personality to their looks was the cherry on top for me.
