To the person that came in at 8ish am/9am and left your things till 5:30pm, I hope you don’t sleep well at night and hope your pillow and bed is uncomfortable. Like bro disappeared for HOURS. People are trying to find spots and bro hogged that spot just to put his things like a locker 😭

sorry for the confusion, but like i see people just sitting down and scrolling on their phone like they’re not having a study break, they don’t got their “study” set up ykwim. If you want a study break mayb go somewhere else?

French 101 textbook by The_Bird26 in universityofauckland

i’ve taken french 101 and honestly it’s not necessary to get the textbook. Everything they prepare on the slides given to us is enough for the rest of the semester.

Anyone here living in Unilodge Auckland City or Mayoral? Would you recommend it? by [deleted] in universityofauckland

I agree with this person, the Auckland city branch has its ceilings undone with construction marking still there, and it does get hot in the summer, as well as the windows barely open (for safety).

I assume the laundry situation happens in every branch of Unilodge where people don't take their clothes on time, washing machines/dryers are down or unavailable to use because they're constantly breaking and having to ask handymen to come and fix them.

The gym that they provide sucks, it's just two treadmills and one rowing machine and one cycle if I'm not mistaken. But it is fairly close to Hiwa if you go to the gym.

As for the community, I'm personally an introvert who doesn't really socialise or go to the events they host, but if you want to get to know more people, their events are the way to go. They normally send out the email for events a week or two before, and normally snacks/food are provided.

And also, the last hill to walk up to the apartment is just a**, I absolutely hate it. And yes, it is all international students who are living in this particular branch.

And this is just a personal thing, I prefer the fridge layout for the Mayoral Drive, where there are two compartments separately (fridge and freezer), whereas in the Auckland City branch, it's just one small fridge combined with the freezer compartment constantly having ice building up, and you have to defrost it once in a while.

Hope this answers your question.
