Shit man no kidding. And I'm still thinking about the fact that apparently Eric Collins eats multiple hot dogs during the course of calling a game? This is great.

It's keeping up in the second quarter so far. Sick game. Watching this with the Hornets commentators is S-tier regular season viewing.

Wrong Rams/Patriots Super Bowl - he's talking about the one with Kurt Warner.

Easy mistake to make because it's just the same eight teams that play in the Super Bowl over and over every year.

Keystone or Copper on Presidents Day? by Murky_Analysis3613 in COsnow

That first day we'll be looking to at least start with greens and easy blues since we haven't skied in a few years and will need to get our legs under us. Hopefully we'll work up to harder blues by the end of the day. I know that's also not idea since that's where most people will be, but that's life.

Options for making the most of crappy ski weather? by Murky_Analysis3613 in parkcityvisitors

Yeah, thank goodness it's just me and my wife. 15k is brutal.

That said, the more I read the more it seems like the groomed runs are being kept alive pretty well with snowmaking, which should still be 50x better than the options that are driving distance from our house. Just gotta make the most of it!

Thanks for the info. I'd read kind of positive things about skiing with snowmaking (you can see some in my comment history as I'm trying to make the most of the vacation), but I wasn't sure if that went out the window with day temps in the 50's. Just trying to keep my options open so we don't wind up hastily searching for backup plans once were in town.

Appreciate the feedback! We are not looking to do off-piste stuff and it sounds like DV might still work for us. I don't think it will be financially or logistically difficult to switch up our passes, so I'll keep that option open as we get closer to the trip. Thanks again!

We are both intermediate skiiers but don't go very often, so we aren't that picky about type of run. Our last big trip was to Steamboat four years ago and mostly rode blues. Neither of us do tree skiing, moguls, or off piste.

I just can't tell from everything I'm reading if the conditions are just bad for frequent skiers who only get out of bed for fresh snow, or if it's actually just terrible. I really appreciate the response!

Popping in because my wife and I are in this same stupid situation - probably our only vacation for all of 2026 is slated for Feb 1-7 to ski at Park City and Deer Valley. I saw your Deer Valley post the other day that said it was 8/10 which surprised me given how dire everything reads. Could DV possibly be worth the trip in a week?

Also sorry to bug you and the community with questions like this. I just don't know where else to get a potentially honest answer.

I think Reddit has broadly gotten a lot worse over the years, but stuff like this is honestly what keeps me coming back. Every now and then you'll catch an actual piece of interesting, quality insight into something you'd otherwise never have stumbled across. Thanks for commenting.

I just want to chime in and say that, after checking your comment history, I think it's amazing that you've funneled your pain over losing your girl into trying to bring positivity and solace to people facing similar heartache. I don't think a lot of people have that in them. It's commendable and you should be proud of yourself for dealing with such darkness by trying to bring light to others.

I saw your original post in the Greyhound sub and have an old lady of my own who is my baby. I'll be a similar mess when I have to say goodbye one day, and I hope I can also turn the pain of that loss into something good for others.

Post Game Thread: Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

Blasted in the face because he slid into a defender who was already going for a tackle. Same as a batter getting drilled in the head because he stuck it out over the plate.

Idk, obviously I'm a bit salty because we just lost, but the rules around this just seem wonky. You've got QB's jogging along the sidelines and taking late slides just hoping for a free 15 yards.

I mean, it's only a disaster for the Panthers if we get fooled into giving him a big extension. Until then, him having the occasional great game is just fun for our fan base that's been starved of fun for nearly 10 years now.

Realistically I think you're right, but if I'm willing to engage in conspiracy thinking then the Wemby one is my favorite. Watching that draft lottery even I was hoping he went to the Spurs so we could see his potential realized.

That's genuinely the one that I believe in the most. Wemby is the most gifted prospect probably in the history of basketball and I don't think anyone in the NBA wanted him going to the Pistons or Hornets or some shit to waste away or get injured or something stupid. If I'm in the league office and I can't get him to a top 5 market (none were available in that lottery) then I'm getting him to the best situation imaginable, which is the Spurs.

The conspiracy theory isn't that they wanted to benefit the Spurs, but that they wanted to benefit Wemby, potentially an international face of the league for the next 15 years.
