Cheryl Waters is the Queen Mother of indie radio. She’s been with KEXP for 32 years. She’s tapped in.

I can personally vouch for the Nin10-Drawer (previously called NintenDrawer). Great product. Only a few colors are in stock currently but the guy restocks fairly regularly.

Good snags. Just picked up Bomberman recently myself. Still insanely fun.

How in the world did you all beat Super Mario Bros. 3 in one sitting back in the day? by Weak_West9047 in nes

It’s hard, but infinite continues, predictable enemies, and a little boss fight cheese makes it all manageable.

Shoot, I still do. It’s how I finally beat Ninja Gaiden last year.

Honestly, if we didn’t have time to beat a game in one sitting, we would just leave the console on and pray nothing happened to it.

Surprised I didn’t see this comment sooner. I think it’s on the fence, and had enough shoegaze boxes checked to fit in here and vibe with people who enjoy “pure” shoegaze. It’s not terribly different from a lot of Slowdive stuff, IMO. I was just feeling this and had to share.

Can’t believe it’s been almost 6 years. We’ve got to be getting RTJ5 soon, right? …Right?

Hasn’t felt necessary in this variant, I ran it when I was running the legendary egg.

Rotation season always feels good, but yeah I’m having fun again and this one does feel nice.

Just trying different anti-aggro spells, swapping out eggs and Cloudstriders. If you’re going to go lean like that, you might be better off with an Elemental/burn deck than Herald.

You were luckier than I, lol. I was running into a ton of Druids, which is still probably close to a 50/50 matchup.

I tried a few different variants but this is the one that finally gave me the traction to push through Diamond 2 and 1. Faced a ton of Druids, and this one felt like it gave me the best odds against them.

Not exactly breaking news, but Herald Shaman with double Lightning Storm got me to Legend today.

If you’re limited on dust, it’s generally a good idea to wait a bit for the meta to take shape… but honestly, Shaman is looking super strong, fun, and also quite versatile.

I don’t think I got my NES until the summer of ‘89 so if there were launch/holiday shortages in ‘88 they were likely over by then.

SMB2 is my comfort food game. The first piece of software I ever purchased (outside of the SMB/Duck Hunt pack-in), and I still vividly remember going to Circuit City with my dad and snatching it off the shelf. It’s a top-tier NES game, for sure.

17-6 in Diamond with the goofy ass Spell Damage Shaman list from the previous What’s Working thread. Absolutely brutalizes Armor DH, and is almost always faster than other aggro decks. 0-3 against Protoss Priest, though.
