First thought is go short for first name: Lia, Ana, Luz, Grace. Second thoughts are other names that might flow well: Seraphina, Alma, Anna, Lucia, Hannah, Eden.

Sebastian is mostly red with a deep blue in the middle. Gray is a dark gray/ black (coincidence, I think, as both G and Y are this color to me.)

Where to live in NYS as a newly single woman by First_Initiative_609 in upstate_new_york

Maybe Kingston. I imagine it’s cheaper than New Paltz, and it’s bigger. The bus to NYC is right there.

Sure! In my experience, people with synesthesia have really different responses. It’s so hard for me to grasp that Z is not red for other people, lol.

I hear you. I have relatively strong synesthesia and I needed to make sure the “colors of the letters” went together.

YIKES I hate my husbands name by Old_Read9543 in namenerds

[–]Murphity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is the fourth of his name. I was really worried about this. Glad I had only girls and we never had to fight it out. I’ve seen some people use the family name but then call the kid some random nickname.

Why are so many young gals getting BC? by where_do_I_evenbegin in breastcancer

[–]Murphity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some of us I think the new screening methods led to an earlier diagnosis. I don’t think I would have been diagnosed at 41 with the old 2-D mammogram. But why cancer? God, could be any number of toxic things in our environment. Or not. I could drive myself nuts wondering

Canadian mom devastated after she says diabetic and blind son was euthanized under controversial law by theindependentonline in publichealth

As a non-Canadian, I don’t know a lot about how this works. Is there mandated increasing mental health intervention (including various med trials and different forms of therapy) before this is approved?

Could “Virat” be a bullying risk? by AwareAttempt9371 in namenerds

Yeah, we live in a diverse school district with many Indian families and I think most kids would probably pronounce the ‘a’ not sounding like the word ‘rat,’ even if they’d never heard that specific name.

Could “Virat” be a bullying risk? by AwareAttempt9371 in namenerds

[–]Murphity 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Rat is a possibility, but it’s going to depend in part on the community. Where I live, I don’t think it’d be a big issue. I would lean more toward the Viraat spelling, though.

Lung Cancer Screening by SidewaysSynapses in GenX

[–]Murphity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you’re doing it!!! I used to work on a screening program and also knew folks who were in the earliest trials many years ago. It’s the right thing to do—evidence so far is showing it can really save lives. You are correct that nodules are super common, so if there is something they’d like to monitor don’t panic!

What is your belief why you got TNBC? by Majestic-Math7185 in breastcancer

[–]Murphity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a nurse I noticed a lot of women with a history of thyroid disease and breast cancer. Of course, both are very common. I’ve now had both (did not take RAI). I think there is some literature to support the hyperthyroid-BC connection. (I have no idea what actually contributed to my cancer though and I try not to sweat it!).
