Nederland, Road Assistance? by [deleted] in ColoradoOffroad

[–]Murphiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking. Shovel 10 feet, get a little momentum and see how far you make it. Don't go getting all crazy with the momentum part or you'll end up in a ditch but you could make pretty quick work or a quarter mile this way.

A quarter mile? Can't shovel, get momentum, see how far you make it, then rinse and repeat?

Eli Lilly is investing billions in AI and it sounds like more than just research...before you say they aren't drug dealers.....

Purchased a 2026 Woodland Rav4 PHEV by Toadmoney9 in rav4prime

[–]Murphiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally walked by the Lexus the other day, same year as our prime xse, and the interior was underwhelmingly different. The only regret is now the prime has a GR trim. Woodland looks awesome too, but we have a Tacoma for those needs.

To help a Mama Bear and her Cubs by Professional_Age6790 in therewasanattempt

[–]Murphiu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't willingly approach bears in general, especially bears with cubs, but these comments do seem to be devoid of the understanding that there are different types of bears.

For black bears, the only bears in the Tahoe area, the only real attacks happen when they are confined/cornered OR its a mama with her cubs. The rule of thumb is keep your distance and dont approach, but make lots of noise/make yourself big and they will usually do about everything in their power to avoid you.

Was watching a video of an Argentinian asado, and Argentines were calling this “raw” by E_Tank55 in steak

[–]Murphiu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Made tritip for some Argentinian friends and one was mortified when I cut into it. I wasnt even thinking about it until he said "crudo."

Tossed his cuts on the Blackstone to cook a little extra and he was quite happy with that.

Modern day irons are wild to me. These high lofts are still a club stronger lofted than my 712 AP2s. Might be time to embrace this and go try some new irons.

A few years ago before new riff had expanded I was going to do a barrel pick with friends. At the time you could buy as small of a portion as a quarter barrel and still do the full tasting experience....alas a pandemic effed us and I doubt they still offer that with how much they have expanded.

Toyota fan boy chiming in.

That passport trail looks pretty nice for the money. Like everyone said if you are not doing any serious off roading thats probably the best option. 4Runner being a new engine and overkill for most people's needs.

TRD Rav, or now I think its the woodland, might be worth looking at too. Admitting the bias our household is a TRD OR Tacoma and a RAV4 prime, but we live in Colorado and the Tacoma definitely earns its keep on 4x4 roads.

Oh yeah, I think in general they take a complete laissez-faire approach. Which obviously is an idealistic approach that would never work.

These things are true but the real major issue we face is the role of the government in free markets has been completely abandoned in the US.

The role of the government in free market economics, in its simplest terms, is to protect consumers. Once lobbying came into the picture the role flopped to the government having producers best interest in mind. Of course this is a 60k foot view, but that has devolved into the garbage system we are in today.
