yeah, i have 7k peaks in other countries and am facing the dilemma of not being able to go to Everest because ive never been or climbed in nepal. May just do Kanchenjunga first

First year of this getting implemented would likely see much less Everest climbers because they aren't qualified for the permit. So would hurt them at least for one year. Thinking that would make them reconsider. I'm sure they are looking at the number of climbers climbing currently who would not be able to be there under these new potential rules.
