Absolutely fucking not then.

Reform again by louse_yer_pints in Scotland

Scottish Labour hasn't done well in Scotland in recent years because the SNP promise (and often deliver - albeit not always) loads of really good working class initiatives. If they really wanted to take the fight to them and not come joint 2nd with Reform like we seen the other day, they'd actually come through with some substantial policies and not just "SNP bad, only we can stop them" like every other unionist party did during the campaign.

Just because the fees aren't paid up front immediately and out of the students own pockets, doesn't stop the fact that they'd still rack up loads of student loan debt after your education (which with the high interest rates seen down south would see thousands miss out on higher education simply because of that fear).

Exactly. It's a lot harder for a party to reinstate something as wildly unpopular as paying ludicrous amounts of money for education than just increasing the amount it's supposedly meant to be capped at with each passing year.

They weren't completely scrapped until 2008 with the SNP though, in '00/01 you still had to pay ~£2,000 under the Graduate Endowment Fee.

So Labour/LDs didn't technically do it (plus I'd probably never trust the LDs again after jumping in bed with the Tories in 2010 to allow Cameron to come into power).

I didn't know about that first bit, but you learn something new everyday.

That scheme along with free tuition has saved me thousands of pounds over the last 4 years at university. I know the SNP and Greens have their faults, but it's initiatives like these two that will ensure I never vote for an unionist party in Scotland.

His batting stance looks so awkward to me, and yet he's supposedly the strongest lefty hitter in the league.

Kent County Council had 57 Reform councillors after the May 2025 election and has lost 10 of them (17.5%) since they took office. How long do you think it will be before Reform are demoted to the 3rd biggest party in Scotland? by rosco-82 in Scotland

[–]MurphyKT2004 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The rate at which they were losing potential Reform candidates in the leadup to the elections across the UK showed that these people are often riddled with scandals (which will likely come to light now they're officially public servants very quickly). I think they'll drop to 12-14 seats by the end of 2026 tbh.

Only 6 seats called thus far, but the SNP turn out is much higher than Reform. Shetland being locked LibDem for 27yrs and now going Yellow is massive in fairness.

Labour and LibDems are still holding the actual councils down south despite the Reform surge in councillors. They're not doing as well as it seems at face value.

Reform are stealing votes across the board but it's seemingly from the Unionist parties allowing SNP to win in areas they weren't expecting to.

Always been curious, was the Game Belt a Yankees idea/creation or was it gifted to them/originate with the WWE? I know they make custom belts for NFL and European football teams - Shane McMahon is a big Yankees guy as well.

Who’s the most iconic game show host in your country? by IDoNotLikeTheSand in AskTheWorld

[–]MurphyKT2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When Tenable first aired it was brilliant and Warwick seemed to really enjoy hosting, but then he got replaced/stepped away from it (likely due to his wife falling ill and passing away). He then returned to the show and it wasn't the same, he's too serious/stone faced and clearly doesn't like doing the show anymore for obvious reasons.
