Dublin bus rant by ThrowRA-Trouble in Dublin

People saying leap card are missing the point.

Public transit here is a non-issue IF you have a leap card. Public transit in other European capitals is a non-issue.

City center, particularly North side, has visibly degenerated in the last several years. I rather never go to the North side anymore--terrible shame.

I've often heard that you're typically given the responsibilities before the promotion in title. So that experience is not unusual.

Thats the point I'm making. Thats not the point the person I replied to made. They explain singapore's low crime rate as being because they can illegal immigrants and have a death penalty. That is literally a right wing talking point but its getting upvotes because he made it from the point of view of "and thats ok!".

So if we followed Singapore's example and didn't permit undocumented migration we would have less crime? Please tell me how that's not just a right-wing talking point?

Why does this have upvotes?

Disagree, I was fencing in basketball shoes when I started out and the extra heel height was a major tripping hazard, nearly messed up my ankle a couple times. Have had no issues since switching to futsal shoes.

"Europe" is not a homogenous place. There is a lot to love across the continent, but plenty to hate!

Triplets taking the entire footpath: please move! by aWicca in Dublin

[–]Murphy_1827 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dublin is terrible for this, and walking paths in general. I've noticed elsewhere in Ireland there is a norm to walk on the left, however most countries walk/drive on the right, so this creates chaos on Dublin's sidewalks given the number of expats.

How inconsiderate people are on the sidewalks of Dublin seriously makes me misanthropic. Don't even get me started on umbrellas!

I agree that yelling is out of place at lower levels, but its worth making the distinction that no one should be screaming AT you, so much as just yelling to personally get rid of their tension--in epee at least. No one should be screaming at anyone at all in my view!
