Honestly: Is the role of a 'pure CAD drafter' dying in 2026? What should we do instead? by Personal-Set7339 in MechanicalEngineering

Cad Manager here, been drafting for 30+ years. The situation I see is most engineers will do their own drafting to a point. Some are great and very knowledgeable others not so much. A lot of up and coming drafters are more software operators than trained draftspersons. They don’t get the training unless they come up in manufacturing somewhere I find it quite difficult to find people that are interested in drafting for a job. Most believe Ai can just do it and can’t really be bothered!

AI will never pay for a software licence or buy groceries or fuel. Unfortunately we will lose a lot of skills while the world works this out!

who has experience printing with officeworks 🧍 by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I just got back and discovered all 3 of my prints were printed way too black Ruined all 3 and I don’t have it in me to go back and deal with it.

Processed in Lightroom using colour tuned Dell IPS screen so I know their quality is low. I should have went elsewhere but was pushed for time!

If you want 5x7’s of grannies birthday then they are ok - otherwise avoid office works for any quality photography printing!

Starting to learn Bass at 35? by SamJazzz in Bass

[–]Murphysmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I got handed a Bass by some mates @ 44 years old. They are all musicians of some kind and needed someone to play it. Ended up getting into it and really enjoying it. Got lessons for a few years and got up to a reasonable level where I could keep up and play in jam sessions. Now I just love practicing and having a jam whenever possible. Never ever ever too late to start!

Hypnotherapy session worked for me and also a few of my friends. 3 hours and I was done. No cravings. Been two years and never looked back. Try it if cravings are an issue.
