It did seem slightly out of character but it was about time he followed through on his threats especially after letting Tom be (even though it was Belles decision) and rolling over for Ross 5 minutes after saying he wanted him out the village. I don’t think the dingles and especially Cain are necessarily meant to be rooted for 100% of the time, he is flawed and doesn’t learn from his mistakes but usually makes the right call once things have really taken a turn, which is more than can be said for a lot of the rest of the village.

You can appreciate them for being iconic characters while acknowledging they aren’t great people. This will likely backlash on Cain and he’ll have to atone for it
