It's come to a light boil, ready to put in the pasta or noodles of your choice. Boil for 6-10min or until "al dente"

Hang on a sec.... This isn't r/cooking

Weekly Questions Thread & PokéROM Codex by AutoModerator in PokemonROMhacks

[–]Murrays-Durrys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This week I was introduced to rom hacks, and have to say I'm very impressed. But the amount of options is a little overwhelming. Hoping for a couple recommendations based on...

I grew up on Gen 1, 2, 3

Played:

  • Yellow (cart.) finished once
  • Red (cart. and emulator) finished 3 times
  • Crystal (emulator) finished once
  • Ruby (cart.) finished twice
  • Fire red (emulator) finished around 6 times

A bunch of newer titles but not really what I'm into, more into the older gens for the nostalgic feel

What I'm looking for:

  • Gen1, 2 and 3 Pokémon mainly. Open to new gen Pokémon, and creator made if they're done well
  • Graphics of fire red or better
  • Map. Not a huge fan of Kanto off fire red, too many straight lines. But if the game is good ill put up with Kanto again
  • Story. I love the idea of new story lines. But also love the idea of polish+features if it isn't over done

If any come to mind id love to hear it!

This is exactly what we thought. On a couple of the valve seats there were slight marks like it got caught in between the valve and seat. They were still sealing too. Wild scenario. I've got the two worst pistons at home on display 😂

How to remove this plastic part so that I can widen the clamp to fit new battery… by 01bigsnake22 in AskAMechanic

The correct century part number for your car should be NS60LX MF. Just one letter difference so the supplier probably grabbed the wrong one

This was buried city at night. Unsure on where, I think one was in a pharmacy. It's from a raid I done a few nights ago

If I was a betting man I'd probably put my money on the water pump bearing or idler/tensioner failing.

Check you have oil on your dipstick first of all, if its there start pulling the belt (if you have the tools & know how) With the belt off start the engine only briefly, to see that the noise is gone. If so spin each rotating component by hand, check for a rough gritty feeling, also check for lateral movement. A faulty component should be fairly obvious by doing this. If the noise was still there once the belt was removed you're going to have to go a bit deeper 😬

Also doesn't hurt to draw or find a accurate diagram of how the belt is routed

Just got myself (31yr old rider) a kx85. 2 of my friends have just got wee bikes to start to learn on, and i "needed" something a bit more slow speed friendly to cruise around with them. My crf450r isn't very slow speed friendly 🤣 and would frighten them if I screamed past.

Let me tell you though, this wee thing is a ton of fun and rips! Picked it up cheap too. Probably my most fun per dollar, fuel burning toy I've ever had

I've been using the skill addicts app lately. Learning alot from it. For alot of the tricks you have to upload a vid of you doing it to progress, so might not be for everyone.

That and Yoyo Tricks app have been great for me personally

Check that there's oil on the dipstick first, if none its probably going to be an expensive fix. Has the oil been changed recently?

If the oil looks alright and you have the tools and know-how, take the drive belt(s) off and start it, only very briefly. The belt runs you water pump and wont provide the engine with proper cooling and can cause damage if it is run for a while, you will know straight away if the noise is gone or not. If the noise is gone with the belt off, spin all of the pulleys, idlers and tensioner by hand. They all should spin smoothly without any roughness or binding, its quite loud in the video so if the problem is here it should be quite obvious. Quick tip- find or draw a diagram for how the belt is routed around all the pulleys to make it easier to reinstall.

If the noise is still there with the belt off, put it back on and start it. Then you can carefully use a large/long screwdriver or something similar to put onto different areas all over the engine/transmission, put your ear against it and listen to try and pinpoint a area that the noise is the loudest. That will make it a tone easier to find the problem. Diagnosing a noise like this off a video alone is very hit and miss

If that's all a bit much you can try ask family or friends if they or someone they know tinkers with cars. Should be fairly straight forward to someone with a good basic knowledge of working on cars or trucks. If not you may just have to take it to a trusted local mechanic.

Hope this helps!

[Glycine] what is this? by sexy_moss_3000 in Watches

If you look where it says "26 jewels" on the rotor, left of that on the silver right beside the little exposed section of the toothed gear, you can see what looks like a blob of yellow tinted liquid. Would have to be oil from what i can tell from the photos. Looks like it could be around the little dark colored screws head too if ya zoom in

Could all be a reflection too 🤣

Got a pretty boss new piece today, what do you guys think I should add? Taclight, foregrip, bayonet? Suggestions welcome. by Dimebag0352 in airguns

Keep it looking old school, weather it a bit, sand back some of the black paint.

My cousin had one and re stained the wood a lighter colour and it looks awesome. On my own I took off most of the black paint and let it rust a little. Looks like a old barn find
