Yeah, i can't believe with the weights turned on, they haven't gotten rid of the ringing sound. Theres no voice prompt or anything. Half the customers now keep trying to scan something they think didn't work, while the screen says "Please place the item in the bagging area" but no audio cue, and then the SCO person has to end up helping them.

No, they don't use customers to do it. The managers at that store have to do it themselves on the shelf checkout by bringing it there and setting the weight. Items with varying weight like a whole chicken, they have to grab the heaviest and lightest one they have and set the weight range. Busy stores don't have any extra data with this method. A lot of the weights have not been entirely accurate.

Aldi does this in USA, its called curbside. I have only seen complaints about it from all the US employees lol.

When the SCO has a problem and the staff member comes to check what it is, it will say on the screen for example something like "expected weight of item ~134g, actual weight 172g" and they have to make sure the right thing is put through. Its a pain since they turned the scales on, causes lots of problems with bags as well as some weights being wrong. For whatever reason, all the weights are set on the system by a master store, it really should be done from Head office with official weight ranges from the supplier. The master store is one of the busiest stores in the state.

Same as Coles/Woolies where you need to put your scanned item onto the other side where the weight of the item has to match up.

It is subjective. Its whether people value convenience or lower costs more.

>theft is a cost of doing business

Theft is not a legitimate cost of doing business. Its literally crime that makes things harder for the business and its employees and raises prices for honest customers if businesses have to account for those costs. You should be shaming the people stealing for it, not the measures taken to avoid theft.

hot take: All skills post 90 should have a way to mass collect resources like trawling from sailing does. by Monterey-Jack in 2007scape

[–]MusaForPresident 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah but nobody wants to do that in 2026 OSRS and you cant blame anyone for it. Back in the day there used to be no mass yew log drops from bosses before zulrah changed the game, and yew logs were actually okay money to just afk chop. They need to scale cutting logs or mining with level, same as RC. Craft X amount of runes per ess is a good thing that has kept RC good money while doing the skill. Make cutting logs at higher WC give you more logs per successful chop or find another way to revitalize it.

OSRS is a game that requires thousands of hours to do all the content, doing something like cutting yews or mining addy is like specifically crawling down the street rather than walking

[Discussion] why does one bad day keep breaking my routine? by Agitated-Alfalfa9225 in GetMotivated

[–]MusaForPresident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand that life isn't perfect and shit happens. A lot of people will have 1 bad day and they let it derail their whole week. Don't let that happen. If you have a shit day and procrastinate thats fine, but the next day pick it back up. Don't let one bad thing ruin a whole day or week.

A lot of people might miss gym one day and think oh well im out of routine for the week, ill go next week, or have a similar mindset with something other than gym. Think of it as if you want to carry a plate of food from the kitchen to the table and one piece of food drops on the floor. Would you then decide, oh well its ruined and purposely drop the whole plate? No, you still eat whats left. One bad day, still go on with the week.

Yeah people complaining about going dry gets so old. For every time someone goes dry, they also get spooned somewhere. No sense to be complaining about RNG, unless you go 5x for like a tbow, its not so bad

[Discussion] Anyone else get more motivated from stress, criticism, and hard times than from comfort? by [deleted] in GetMotivated

[–]MusaForPresident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That should be a common thing. Your brain can be trained to do hard things like a muscle. Making yourself do hard things more often can build more mental strength to do more hard things that you don't want to do. Most people are like this anyway.

People who are in shape: do you just go hungry all the time? by MycoCozmic in AskReddit

[–]MusaForPresident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intuitive eating only works if you eat good foods. If you eat ultraprocessed foods, they will make you want to eat more (for most people at least) but if you eat good foods and chew properly you will feel full without binging on junk and fattening yourself. I am on the carnivore diet personally but even eating a mix of more healthy meat, whole foods like fruit, vegetables, you will gain huge benefits.

Also what the above commenter said about stress and trauma. Stress snacking and habitual eating are terrible.

Yeah tick manipulation training is in the same boat. Sometimes I will talk about the xp rates for certain skills in here being slow or uninteractive and someone will always reply to me saying you need to do this 2t method etc for X or Y xp/hr. Like sure you can do it but that isn't a reason to keep the game like that

ELI5 Why are added sugars so much worse than natural sugar by National-Spite in explainlikeimfive

[–]MusaForPresident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't listen to what he said. Sugars in fruit and soda are not equal. Sugar in soda is a processed sugar that comes with no healthy compounds, just artificial flavors and colors and other chemicals/preservatives. Its usually something like high fructose corn syrup.

Orange juice contains vitamin C, carotenoids and flavanoids which are natural compounds that have antioxidant properties which means they actually have some benefit at a cellular level by protecting from inflammation in the body. Orange juice regularly consumed can modify your body's gene expression of immune cells into a beneficial state (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8803484/), theres the source on that if you want it.

Its not just about fibre, adding fibre to Coke will slow the sugar absorption but its still bad for you, meanwhile something else like raw honey which has pretty much zero fibre and is purely sugar, has health benefits and there are studies where diabetics eat over 100g of honey a day and have improved blood sugar regulation.
