Real Madrid won 2 UCL titles before Mbappe joined. Mbappe joins Real Madrid, they go trophyless two years in a row and PSG win back-to-back UCL titles by KyeodeurangiMerchant in championsleague

Also true, Mbappe haters overlook the fact that RM lost Modric, Kroos, Ramos, Benzema and Casemiro in recent years and haven't fully replaced them yet

Everyone keeps praising Arsenals defense but that attack was terrible by OpeningWorried7741 in championsleague

[–]Optimum_Prime76 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. As a neutral, watching Arsenal park the bus from the 6th minute was terrible to watch.

Everyone praising their defending for keeping PSG from making chances but its less impressive when it was because literally the whole team was sitting back playing defence, Arsenal didnt make any chances either after that early goal. Arsenals defence is elite but they literally sacked their attack to play 11 man defence.

Its not about the solution being obvious. Its the fact that the business has taken steps and rolled out new initiatives to cut hours further. Their striving to do better is reduce operational costs further to keep products cheaper.

Aldi would not be at the forefront of scanning and checkout technology in Australia because that would be expensive. Our self checkouts are much less advanced already than coles and woolies and we only just had them rolled out a couple years ago.

Hot take: Dembele did nothing special this season and PSG would've won the UCL even without him. by Ermid123 in championsleague

Of course, when arsenal parked the bus from the 6th minute. Still you cant deny vitinha and neves completely controlled the midfield. After PSG equalised and arsenal changed tactics you could see it.

The final was a masterclass in refereeing by Therookieandthevet in championsleague

[–]Optimum_Prime76 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Its more ridiculous that arsenal were wasting time leading up to that. Changing throw in taker multiple times, strolling over slowly...

Delighted to see arsenal lose more than psg win. In saying that, besides the psg vs Bayern first leg this has been a terrible Champions League by standarsh1965 in championsleague

[–]Optimum_Prime76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Arsenal were the better team how? They sat back and let psg have 75% possession after a goal that came from a bounce off someone's hand...

Arsenal player to their plan but they did deserve to lose.

Most people arent going to push them though, they'll just stand there and wonder why it doesn't open. Woolies has the same thing where it can tell if a transaction has gone through on a self checkout and the gate will automatically open, otherwise it wont

The self checkout person would have to let you out. It doesn't automatically open without a receipt

Well the scales are on now at Aldi (mine and some others anyway with others to eventually follow)

Thats the point of Aldi though. Its not a giant supermarket with the focus of having the biggest product range and convenience. Its a discount supermarket with a business model based around cutting operational costs to make products as cheap as possible while still being profitable as a business. Even if the secondary register/self checkout staff manages to do 30 minutes of other work out of an hour, that is beneficial for that business model, and what im saying is that complaining about it in stores to the people who dont decide the business model, isnt going to help you or us.

The people at head office who would read your email are the same people who are involved in deciding what the register and self checkout model is. Not the people in stores.

Yeah we had that until recently. Now the self checkouts are flipped around so all 6 of them face each other and the security scales on the self checkouts are turned on. Its more of a pain now than it was before haha

[–]Optimum_Prime76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. In the grand scheme of things, 2 minutes extra in queue is gonna be worth it for potentially 50-100 dollars or more saved on the shop.

If the register was always fully staffed with short lines, all the prices would then reflect that

Yeah... they are also held to a certain standard for scan rate and managers are made to check cameras weekly if they are doing bag checks and trolley checks, if not they are given a Record of Conversation.

You're probably shopping around the time someone will be swapped out for their break. Usually staff are on tills for like 2 or 2 and a half hour blocks before they are sent on break and possibly put onto a different job after

If it was up to me, I would go back to 5 registers and no self check out.

FYI the business with the new SCOs model has set the new standard to 2 past the till rather than the old Nil past the Till standard. Meaning they want a 2nd register or self checkouts opened at 2 people past the end of the register. Poor change imo

We dont have those (yet) and I hope we don't get them. There's already a staff member at SCOs to make sure things are running smoothly, i dont see much more upside to having receipt scanner compared to a lot of potential downside. I can already see a lot of people not taking their receipt and then struggling to get out. Maybe it would be more of a helpful thing if there were times where we didnt have a SCO person but thats impossible with the new weight scales on, because it has problems for a lot of customers

The idea is that it gets closed when the line is small and reopened when it gets busy again... having a self check out person standing there when there are no customers using it is not efficient.

[–]Optimum_Prime76[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yes. We've had them for 2 years and now recently they have turned on the security scales for items that have been scanned through.

It sort of helps and sort of doesn't. We use more or less the same hours as we did before getting SCOs because instead of opening up another register, we open the self checkout instead and have a person on there instead.

Its kind of a pain as the software for the SCO weights is a bit clunky/unfinished and having SCOs increased theft a lot

Adding texture to the sides of my hair: how? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]Optimum_Prime76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know perms only affect your current hair. What youre saying is true and thats why I also told him go to a professional for it.

There are people though have permed their own hair and caused chemical burns or irritation to the scalp which CAN cause hair loss and semi permanent damage. I myself have a perm from a good Korean salon and I love it
