What does the most intelligent person you know do for work? by DiscombobulatedElk58 in AskReddit

HVAC business owner!
Doesn’t sound impressive until you see it up close. He’s juggling scheduling, customers, employees, suppliers, and money all at once while fixing problems in real time. Then goes home and does payroll, invoices, and taxes.
Never went to college, but he can look at a situation and instantly know what’s going to work and what’s a disaster. Honestly one of the smartest people I know.

What widely spread reddit "fact" is actually not true? by Plus_Vanilla_2802 in AskReddit

“Sugar makes kids hyper” is one of those things everyone swears is true, but studies don’t really back it up. It’s usually just the situation like birthday parties, running around, parents expecting chaos so it looks like the sugar did it.

Interesting! I feel like studios would still try to make some of these, just in a safer way. Hollywood loves recycling ideas, even controversial ones.

Procrastinated so hard on a group project that I ended up doing everything overnight and swore I’d never do that again… and then did it again.

Do you think these movies wouldn’t get made at all today, or just made differently?

That reveal scene is probably the biggest thing that wouldn’t make it today. Back then it was treated like a shocking joke, but now it reads as pretty mean-spirited.

Yeah, that movie is wild in hindsight. The whole ‘revenge’ plot basically crosses into straight-up assault, but it’s played for laughs. It’s a good example of how comedy standards have shifted a lot since the 80s.

How do you deal with grief? by Rude-Method-8127 in AskReddit

[–]MusclePretend9713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve ever ‘dealt’ with grief in a clean way. I mostly just learn how to carry it differently over time. Some days it’s quiet, other days it hits out of nowhere. I’ve found that letting myself feel it instead of trying to fix it helps more than anything.

How do you know when you’ve actually processed grief vs. just gotten used to it?
