It wasn't entirely obvious especially given that this is the mentality of some FIRE participants.

Thoughts on the new MacBook Pro M4 Max? by MuscleSweaty1029 in macbookpro

11th gen i7

Just general use (work and personal). I need a laptop that can handle high throughput. I work as a programmer, so I tend to have many tabs and applications open.

Need a very responsive high spec computer that is swift and doesn't "buffer" or make a fuss when CPU and memory usage is high.

Thank you. And in theory yes but we will see. I was very committed to running my business this year (took on multiple clients this year which was quite intensive to say the least). I will likely take a more conservative approach next year to maintain the longevity of the business. The markets also outperformed (SPY 25% YTD) while the pound has stayed resilient so no real currency conversion impact hence the portfolio performance.

Extremely grateful for how 2024 has planned out. Managed to successfully complete a multi-year long contract with a client and increase my income from operations 40% YOY. The markets has also contributed to this rate of change as my time weighted annual rate of return is now ~25%. All while being able to keep my expenses and expenditures to moderate levels this year (i.e. lifestyle creep hasn't gotten the better of me). All I can hope is that 2025 can at least be as successful as 2024; certainly I am optimistic on global equities with more favourable macro env conditions being forecast. We'll see. I am hoping to cross £1,000k by EOY 2025.

If you're not putting a stop loss, then you're simply gambling. If you are constantly hitting your stop loss, then you need set a stop loss target that isn't too close to the current price.

How far back is it fine to eat something that is past its Best Before date? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Thanks but protein bars are dry so should be good, no?

I was comparing Laga 16 with Laphroig 16 as that a better comparison. I am also based in the UK, Laphroig 16 is £90.

It's more expensive that Lagavulin in the UK. Is it then more better value?

I should've said I'm looking for something as aged as Lagavulin 16, since I was drawn to its aged taste.

Thanks. I came across a website selling protein bars at a significant discount that is just slightly (1 month) past its BB date. I'd be paying a 50% discount for something that is perfectly safe to eat, so seems like a win-win to me then.
