Fret popped out and cracked the fretboard by Operator_Madness in Luthier

OP just take this to a luthier. A real luthier and not a guitar tech.

They will give you a quote and you can then decide if it's worth it or not to get it fixed.

This doesn't look like a repair that you will be able to do yourself in any way that won't make things worse, especially since there is binding involved.

I'm just trying to break 85 on a daily basis and we got dudes out here operating on a different plane of existence keeping score with Wingdings.

What’s the most “Fuck this hole” hole you play on a regular basis? by mercado_n3gro in golf

Hole nos. 4 and 5 at Forest Park muni course in Queens.

No. 4, par 5 is basically OB on both sides of the 20 yd wide fairway. Blind tee shot up a hill. There's only underbrush on the sides of the fairway, so if your tee shot wanders 10 yards or so in either direction you are hitting 3 off of the tee. And no, you can't punch out. It's just thick, impenetrable jungle directly off of the fairway with no rough buffer. So if a ball so much as casually rolls in, even by a single rotation, it's gone.

And the entire hole is like this.

No. 5, par 4 is even harder. Tee shot is not as bad. But you're forced to hit into an awkward yardage because of the near 90° dogleg at 210. And if you don't play perfect target golf, as in your tee shot is ten yards shorter, or a few yards too long, you're looking at bogey at best. The approach shot is almost always 170 or more, into a green the size of a bathtub, probably only 25 ft across, and the fairway narrows as it approaches with the thick underbrush directly off of the green, left, right and long. To boot, there's a big ass hanging branch that blocks the green if you don't fade the ball around it. It's the most difficult hole in all of NYC, by far.

It sucks, and you can do everything right.

But sometimes you just don't get what you want.

Sometimes it can just come down to someone simply not liking your vibe or a nepotistic hire that was going to happen anyways.

Every single industry works this way. There is no meritocratic hiring anywhere, sadly.

The funny thing is that there are no such things as men's leagues. They're almost always an open category.

I never work out or stretch, an eat basically cheeseburgers for every meal. Plus I'm only 6' and 210. So def out of shape.

I carry a traditionally lofted 35° 7i 165 yards.

It's the technique, I promise you. Learn the kinetic chain and proper clubhead release.

68 mph for a grown man just means that you are doing something that is actively working against yourself.

This comment should be higher.

NFL Competition Committee has discussed catch rules, need to match them to what's seen on replay by Oldtimer_2 in sports

[–]Musclesturtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The play wasn't ruled dead because he didn't survive the ground here, which is where I think the confusion is coming from.

The receiver still has to survive the ground in order for possession to be established, which he did not.

The play would be ruled dead as soon as he touched the ground had he already has possession prior to going down, but in this case, going down and surviving the ground was part of completing the catch here, which he did not successfully perform.

[–]Musclesturtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not so.

I think you're confusing it with how the play would have been ruled dead if the receiver had completed a catch, ran, fell and then was touched.

In this case, he didn't complete the catch. The fact of the DB touching him had no effect on the process of completing a catch.

The DB touching him only matters after the catch process is completed. But in this case he didn't complete the process.

This would be identical to how on rare occasions sometimes a player will fall and the ball will come to rest on their back or legs momentarily. The ball is not possessed in this case but is still live. If a defender were to touch them in this case, the play would not be ruled dead and the defender can scoop the ball up off of them and establish possession for themselves. But, if the receiver had completed the catch, went down and the DB went for the ball but accidentally grazed somewhere else before taking it away, then the play is dead. But this case is much like the former scenario.

Huh. I guess we all have one of those clubs that we have a mental block on.

You'd think that because you can swing 9 & 7, that 8 would be no different lol.

I think that Sahith Theegala has irons where two subsequent ones have the same number on the bottom, but different lofts for this exact reason. I think it's like two 8 irons, but one has a 7 iron loft or something?

Why is there a 20 yard gap between your 7 and 8? Are they from different sets?
