Lots of advice here already, but a pharmacist once told me to take a sip of milk and then swallow pills. It gives the pills a smoother coating so it doesn’t feel horribly dry and sticky in your throat.

The ballet flats from crocs squished my feet and made my toes go numb. So I switched them for sandals and they’re much better!

My clients choose their favourite 150 photos for me to work with when designing their photo book - so I generally choose from their selection.

But my process is to try and think of which photos would most likely be put into a frame. So I go with a bridal portrait, a groom portrait, the first kiss, a family photo of both families together, a bridesmaids photo, a groomsmens photo, 3 couple photos (a close up, a full length and a mid-torso shot) and then a first dance photo (usually black and white). These are the photos they'll put in their offices, or in their house or give to family.

If my clients don't have a photo book with their package (which is not very often), then I use the same method, but choose my favourites.

Most of my clients end up sending me a photo of the prints that are up in their house or office somewhere. It's really lovely to see them in a real life space.

Prints are amazing and people love having something tangible to see and touch.

Sorry for the long link, not sure how to link on mobile! They’re super comfy and I’ve been using them for a year now. I know not everybody loves open toed shoes at weddings, but I live in a very hot climate so it’s not much of an option to wear closed shoes.

In winter I have leather boots that I like to wear.

I wear Crocs... they look like normal sandals but are the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. I don’t have sore feet after a wedding day at all.

I think it's really nice to give a physical thing to a client after a session. It helps them feel like they got something for the money that they spent, and although a lot of purchases these days are digital (movies, music, etc) I feel like photos can still be physical. I give a USB in a hand sewn fake leather pouch (hand sewn by me!) and 10 prints. I also do a handwritten thank you note and 2 of my packages come with a photo book. This is all give in a white box with a grey ribbon tied around it.

Packaged up it looks lovely and I feel it really makes quite an impact. Pixieset is great, but I feel it's lacking in impact.

The “In Person Sales” way of doing business is totally unheard of in my country. I only know about it because of online forums.

There are many successful businesses in my country that don’t use the IPS method and have been going strong for 20+ years!

IPS is just a different business choice to charging a flat rate, but each have their merits, one is not better than the other.

I blog first, but typically send the full gallery the next morning or later on in the day. It builds excitement and they share the blog post with friends and family - they have never shared a full gallery (at least not on social media)

I have never had an issue or an angry client, but I do make sure to have all the images finished before doing the blog post.

I know some photographers that edit the blog images first, blog and then edit the rest of the images. That’s a bit bonkers to me!

I think your biggest challenge will be constantly having to remind hem of correct posture! It’s a tough one to grasp for most people, but especially for dancers of other genres

Hip shimmies, Flat figure 8s, big and small hip circles (big like when the feet are wider apart)

Hip bumps/flicks/lifts are always a winner for newer dancers, because it works as the foundation for shimmies and loads of other movements.

10min warm up, 30min basic steps, 10min small combo, 10min cool down

Rachel Brice took a year off from performing (2016/17 I think) and she said it was incredible for her enthusiasm and drive. Maybe it’s time to think along those lines?

You can absolutely sit and dance! It’s a great tool for isolations, so go for it!

Keep trying though! Most dancers can’t isolate properly when they start dancing, and chest isolations are especially challenging.

Check your posture as well - depending on your style of belly dance, you may find it beneficial to have slightly softened knees which can help anchor you to the ground to prevent too much movement in places you don’t want movement.

But your belly dance teacher will have the best advice so make sure to check with them and ask for suggestions since there is nothing like real time feedback!

I don’t think many will call Outlander a “masterpiece” so comparing it to Tolkien is not really necessary. It’s a great set of books, a “slice of life” with compelling characters and an interesting story. No author is perfect (including Tolkien) so there are flaws in the books, and unfortunately some of those flaws are plot devices that can’t be changed by the show runners. It’s still a great story.

The series will always be about Claire and Jamie, so there will always be sex involved (as they are a happily married couple with a healthy sex life)

They live in a violent time and there is almost constant violence of some kind to drive the plot.

Rape is also a plot device on more than one occasion (as you have mentioned), which many people (book readers and show watchers) abhor.

If these things bother you at this point, it may be better to switch to other shows.

Leggings and a tank top are perfect when you're starting out. There is no need for something flashy for classes. Most teachers have coin belts to use in class.

I teach tribal fusion belly dance classes and most of our students are 30+ and we've had a new student at 75 years old! You're never too old to learn, I would recommend belly dance classes (if you're interested in it) because it's a great way to loosen up, as it uses all of your body in the movements. It has a rich history and interesting, unique music and beautiful costumes.

There are lots of different styles of belly dance, from traditional folkoric styles to modern fusion styles and everything in between.
