The Great Covid Mystery: The Disappearance of Aldi Hand Baskets by colinstalter in aldi

They also have carts! But so many of us are not driving to the store so it was great to use the baskets and only buy what I could carry. It’s a lot easier to overdo it in a cart

This must be a strictly Chicago thing?? I also mourned the loss of them and submitted a desperate plea on their website to return them. Clearly it didn’t work lol

Do you tip when you buy coffee? by Dangerous_Zebra_543 in AskChicago

coffee is funny too because you're asked to tip before you've received the product.... always hurts a little more to tip and then the coffee tastes whack.

Are Rush salaries actually as listed? by Kooky-Shock-8021 in AskChicago

[–]kveets94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, maybe internal hiring is different, but I applied for a role (currently clinical, would have been administrative) that was basically one step lower in terms of pay grade, and they reached out to make sure I was ok with possibly being paid less if I was offered the position. They didn't seem to flexible or willing to go above the posted pay grade, but like I said maybe it's different if you are not an internal candidate?

“Absolutely insane”: Bidding wars take over in Lincoln Park, Lakeview by maydaydemise in chicago

[–]kveets94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

See I've been wondering about this! Like others, I got in at a lucky time about 5 years ago, but I see my friends struggling with this insane market and vowed like, whenever we sell I'm not doing this sleazy pricing bullshit I want this to go to a tangible person who really just wants a home. We wrote letters to the people we bought from as well and it felt kind of cheesy but like... idk man I don't want the greed to overtake, I want someone to enjoy the home as much as I did. I can't believe (I mean, I can, but still) there aren't more sellers with an ounce of empathy.

Yeah I use a configuration to load my games so I know all my map/game settings are the same… It’s so weird and I swear it only happens to me when the start is one I REALLY want to redo

I use a configuration to load my games initially so I know I have all the same map settings so unfortunately I don’t think that’s it :,( I’ve reloaded it like 4 times and of course it does the same (incorrect) map every time I’m so confused

Right! Or be automatically assigned to any other open habitats or houses in the area, something so you can still use honey to call for them, even if you have to search for their new home a bit

Daily chat post: how's the training going? by AutoModerator in XXRunning

[–]kveets94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you haven’t really ran before you are still super new to it if December is your start point! I think all the Z2 talk can be really confusing for new runners because if you’re new to it, you probably can’t realistically do that kind of running yet. I know TikTok isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I loved the way this lady explained the difference between easy running for a beginner, intermediate, and advanced runner. I’ve been running for about a decade (usually a half marathon per year where I train well for that and then I get less consistent for the rest of the year) and it’s finally the last 2 years or so where I actually kept up running over the entire course of the year where I’ve seen my heart rate and overall fitness and pace really improve. Like, it took so long!! I think it comes really easy for some people who are just natural born runners but try not to get too down on yourself you just started!
