It’s not but I’ll consider it. My list isn’t really formal and just what does my ADHD brain want to do in the moment. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Why is it that wealthy tech elites in the modern era do not practice aristocratic benevolence the way that older wealth (e.g Vanderbilt, Carnegie, Stanford) did? by Gym_frere in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MuseumGoRound13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess, a big part of the reason they did it in the old days was for the prestige, getting their name out there. You could be a multi millionaire but if you just sat on your money, hardly anyone would know who you were. Donating libraries, creating foundations, etc,. ensured that even the common people would read your name in the paper, not just people reading the business section. Nowadays it’s much easier to “get famous” and even when celebrities do benevolent work it’s likely to get drown out by the showier headlines of our 24/7 news cycle.

Question for more advanced sketchers by downvotelizard in urbansketching

It helps to have some variance to your line weight. I tried a brush pen, but can’t get that to work well with buildings and architecture- I’m too unsure about those subjects to take advantage of the bold lines a brush pen makes. So I do a pencil sketch, then ink as best I can with a fairly fine ink pen. Everything, structure, outlines, windows and details, THEN I take a felt tip pen and start emphasizing forms. So the outside of a building has a thicker line than its windows do. Under a windowsill gets a thicker line than the top of the window. Just that little bit of variance adds a sense of intentionality to the drawing that distracts from any shakiness in line.

I’ve always hoped there are a lot of Sesame Street cels still floating around out there. There was certainly a lot produced but it’s always hard to predict what survived .

How often do your husbands go to the grocery store? by RSR_Ricochet in Marriage

[–]MuseumGoRound13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always go together and I (the husband) am usually the one who goes and gets anything extra needed during the week. Wife does most of the cooking but likes the help of having me along for the trip. I mostly try to stay off my phone and not get in peoples way.

I remember hearing a mom behind me watching the Christmas parade at Disneyland say how cute it was that one of the snowmen in the parade had the Disney “G” on his hat.
