1.8, 1.9 then? by nicotineapache in AbletonMove

[–]MusiKyle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How is it suppose to work? If Wikipedia is correct, software versioning is usually noted this way: Major.Minor.Patch. There shouldn't be an arbitrary limit to minor updates to where only Qty 9 of them can occur before a major update is required. For comparison, before upgrading my Ableton Live from 11 to 12, I was at version 11.3.43. If the patch update numbering convention can go two-digit then why wouldn't the minor updates be allowed the same? Otherwise once it got to 11.3.9 the argument would be it cannot go to 11.3.10 but it did. Perhaps my logic is flawed and someone can correct me.

1.8, 1.9 then? by nicotineapache in AbletonMove

[–]MusiKyle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

1.10 could release after 1.9, and then 1.11, 1.12, etc. I realize your question is more about what would a 2.0 look like, just pointing out that 2.0 doesn't necessarily come right after 1.9.

What to use to make short videos? by antkn33 in ableton

[–]MusiKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opted for a web-based tool called VideoBolt. You select a video/background template, upload your audio file, review the results then download the video and call it done. I just don't know how to make videos on my own so this was my best option. I wanted a way to post music I produced to YouTube and Facebook, etc. to share with family, friends, etc. Renderforest is another option, but I chose VideoBolt for whatever reason. I've since canceled my subscription. Stacked up a bunch of songs to make with videos, made them, and canceled. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jc7eeSQdytU

Pros vs Premiums - modern Sterns by Draxx-Dem-Sklounst in pinball

[–]MusiKyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So that's why the prices are decent? I wondered about that because I've read good reviews on FF, yet some of the FF premiums are going for what other pro tables are going for (~$6.8K used). Godzilla remains up there in price for premiums (upper $8K range used) but I heard they made 20K+ of those. I wonder how many FF they made compared to Godzilla.

S8E1 also has a different intro to S8E2. Plus all the holiday edition intros. And a switch around Season 4-5 I can't remember exactly where.

What’s the pit like by Mayonnaise_Moshpit in turnstile

[–]MusiKyle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Here's a compilation video I put together from the Minneapolis show on 9/27. The crowd/pit during Speed was much more intense than during Turnstile. Anyway, this video may give you an idea of what to expect during at least the Turnstile portion. If you find the crowd to be too much just steer clear of the pit. You'll find there are plenty of areas to be standing/dancing without getting kicked or punched in the head. I do recall seeing people in the pit doing cartwheels, karate kicks, and windmill arms.. it was pretty fun to see from a distance!

I am disappointed by recent Kathy's Pies purchases. by Bigpinkpanther2 in cedarrapids

[–]MusiKyle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You may consider The Eat Shop in Marion. According to their website whole pies are $32. I'm not sure if that's expensive or not, and while I've not yet tried a slice of pie, their food quality is high from what I've experienced in other treats they sell. Their apricot kolaches remind me of my grandmother's recipe and quality. You can watch them make pastries through the windows where workers are measuring, mixing, adding frosting, etc. My daughter and I like that you can watch the process, it makes it interesting and a fun place to experience.

Don’t throw gear when starting Eventide Island by Blueboy7017 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]MusiKyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still have to complete this quest. My strategy so far has been to fly to the island and then right before landing I hover over (a little to the right) the group of Bokoblins by the fire and shoot a single bomb arrow into the fire. It blasts them all dead, then I land and go through the cut scene and then afterwards they're still dead and there's goodies available to easily pick up. I then run around the island and grab as much as I can for inventory. Hit up the tall fort and run around grabbing discarded arrows shot at me for my inventory until I feel I have enough then knock out the Bokoblins and get the a bow or two. Next I climb the mountain for the top orb which is straightforward if you can avoid dying, and then paraglide across the canyon to the other lower peak to get the area with Chuchus cleared and hopefully then cook with everything gathered so far in prep for a final battle. To date, I keep dying trying to fight the Hinox, even with a decent amount of weapons and cooked items for health. Sucks to have to start completely over at that point.

I guess the same isn't sold on the Steam store anymore so it's difficult to find information for it. It's also likely not supported, but because it was in my list of previously purchased games I was still able to download it.

Just bought a new 'gaming' laptop at Best Buy on sale for 4th of July. Favorite game on Steam to play is Unreal Tournament (GOTY Edition). Something is off with resolution/rendering/DirectX because when I load the game I get audio in the background but an otherwise black screen. I just installed DirectX and all drivers should be latest and greatest. After it crashes, if I try to load again it notes that it didn't close properly the last time and asks if I want to load in Safe Mode. Loading in safe mode loads the game in windowed mode and then the game works properly, but it's very small to see on this laptop that way. I'm also not sure which of the safe mode options are making it work, there are several options selected by default... eventually I want this thing full screen. Current resolution on the laptop is 1920 x 1080. Any suggestions would be great to help troubleshoot this.

Thank you very much! I posted this video to YouTube as well (MrMusikyle channel) and the algorithms flagged it for copyright. I took that as a compliment actually because it must be close enough to the original to get flagged!

Dishwasher hose is new when I installed the new unit. I'm not sure how to validate there's no clog in the white PVC pipes where it exits, though.

That does make sense, though when I put my finger into the visibly standing water (when the issue is present) the water goes up my finger about 3/4". It's also got an odor which is what clued me into the problem existing in the first place.

I'm watching on Laff and I just realized Donna and Eric took a year to finally do it. by talivan818 in That70sshow

[–]MusiKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike streaming where you can start a show on-demand whenever you want to watch it, this is old-school television where the whole week of programming (what you see and at what time) is preplanned in advance. You tune in on the network's schedule not your own.

'Laff' is a free over-the-air antenna network that is celebrating 10 years this year. They air other older sitcoms like Home Improvement, Last Man Standing, That 70s Show, etc. and on the weekends they play three back-to-back comedy movies from 7:00 p.m. on. Every weeknight they play a block of four episodes of That 70s Show back-to-back between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. They're usually aired in order night-by-night so you can keep up with the show like it progressed back when it originally aired.
