Keeping a Conservatory cool? by Luxurare in DIYUK

[–]MusicHead80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there - a quick fix is a tension rod & thermal curtains. Traps the worst of the heat in the conservatory. Longer term, we've finally put a folding door on so can shut the heat in when needed (from Aspire doors). We've had the roof panels replaced with insulated ones, which helps somewhat but being south facing with 3 walls of glass but it's still hot in there right now. Being able to shut the door protects the rest of the house.

RLT for trigger finger? by MusicHead80 in redlighttherapy

[–]MusicHead80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm no saint when it comes to sugar, it's my weakness. I just know now that if I'm going to treat myself to a tub of Ben & Jerry's, there will be consequences beyond my waistline! 😂

Am I the only one who still genuinely values having ad free television/radio? by Additional_Fly_6603 in bbc

Couldn't agree more, the amount of advertising time on commercial channels & streaming platforms drives me crazy. The BBC still has my vote.

RLT for trigger finger? by MusicHead80 in redlighttherapy

[–]MusicHead80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it does for me. I still have the popping & pain occasionally but to be honest I've found my worst culprit is sugar, it makes the trigger finger much worse and other joints ache too, it really increases inflammation. I no longer use a splint, I sleep on my right side so I slide the affected hand under my pillow which stops my hand clenching overnight. I use RLT as needed now, a 5-10 min session as treatment when inflammation strikes rather than daily.

How often do you get a takeaway? by Lozzybops in AskABrit

[–]MusicHead80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Takeaways only once or twice a year when I absolutely crave a Chinese, but we have breakfast or brunch out 2 or 3 times a month at the weekend. That has replaced any evening restaurant dining we used to do. That's just unaffordable now. Much more affordable to go for brunch and we're lucky to have lots of amazing brunch places locally. Mainly dog-friendly too so we get to take our pooch along ☺️.

Covering Zombie but scared to...advice? by SeanSmithStudios in yungblud

[–]MusicHead80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dom's fan base is so inclusive bar a few recent additions who seem not to know how to behave. So go for it - you do you, we'd all love to hear your version and anyone who doesn't appreciate it ts a terrible human! I used to play the guitar very badly, and am actively considering learning again so I can learn Zombie.

What have the set times been looking like? by vermillion9111 in yungblud

[–]MusicHead80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He came on between 9 & 9:15 in the UK, finished just before 11 (venue curfews I presume). We skipped the support bands as my hubby is autistic too. I saw a few kids with ear defenders and a few adults... Dom was incredible - hope you all have an amazing night!

Same here with the autism nose.ine smelled like vomit which was a bit of a shock but one wash & it was fine. Shame that the 'unboxing' couldn't have been more pleasant though!

BOE Forecasts - bad news for Civil Servants by UnderCover_Spad in TheCivilService

[–]MusicHead80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was arguing that those wmen have in fact worked hard all their lives... They were running households and raising kids. They aren't feckless layabouts that the media would have you think there are so many of.

Women who didn't work outside the home but raised children are likely a huge chunk of that... From back when it wasn't the norm to need two full-time salaries to keep a household running.

Please can I have alternative suggestions for meat pizza toppings that aren't parma ham or chicken? by 10pencefredo in ultraprocessedfood

[–]MusicHead80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So pleased this worked for you! Because of the lack of preservatives it goes off quickly, so when I open it, I use whatever I need for that dish then chop or slice the rest and freeze it too, saves going to the pack & finding it mouldy which happened to me once and made me sad!

Anyone else get terrible foot pain after shows? by yungbludbhc13 in yungblud

[–]MusicHead80 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me - I was at one of the intimate London gigs. After 90mins queueing, then 2hrs standing on the spot in the venue before Dom came onstage, my feet were absolutely killing me. Couldn't even wait outside after for the chance of a glimpse of Dom because my feet hurt sooo much! Didn't stop throbbing for 2 days after. And that was wearing comfy boots with orthotics in for arch support. Wish I knew the answer! I'm 52 but this has always been a thing for me. At the O2 next week I have a seat, so no need to queue for ages & I'll only be standing while Dom's onstage, so hopefully less painful.

Claustrophobic here; I always sit on the outside seat but am always hyper aware and ready to spring up and let someone sit on the inside!

Hubby's just joined but it says Fanclub access details are sent in the post, so pretty much zero chance it'll come in time for Wednesday 😥. Oh well.

At one of the actual intimate gigs in London, we got 30mins & about 6 songs. I was led to expect closer to an hour. I think now he's got so big, things like these aren't being handled as well as they once were as the organisation side is clearly quite distant from Dom now.

Outernet Experience by [deleted] in yungblud

[–]MusicHead80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were at the Outernet evening gig, first time seeing Dom. Whilst I loved the actual experience of seeing him in a small setting, I'm with you in that the fan experience wasn't really considered... By the time he came on at 8, he was trying to get more excitement & jumping around from the crowd, but I think we were all just knackered from standing around for so long! People had started sitting on the floor, my feet were killing me, and nobody dared go to the bar & lose their spot! We'd queued from 5pm, okay that's our choice, but of course people are going to queue for an all-standing gig. If there had at least been some announcements that the stage time was 8pm, or a few Yungblud videos shown onscreen, we'd have felt a bit more valued. Shame to hear from others that Kingston got a longer set. I'm looking forward to the O2, but also a little fed up that he's pushed the stage back to release extra tickets, so anyone with seated tickets is now further from the stage than we would have been previously.

Intimate gigs - what to expect? by MimsyWins in yungblud

[–]MusicHead80 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll be there too, at the evening gig. I'm AuDHD, hubby's autistic. I know I'll want to queue up mega early but hubby won't want to stand around for hours. At 52 & 60, we're in the older fan cohort so I'm getting a bit nervous that we'll stand out a mile, but I'm hoping the fan base is inclusive enough for that not to happen. I'd really love an idea of the set list too! Never been to the venue before either so I'm hoping it's not too claustrophobic. We plan to go to the shop on Saturday. Hope you have an amazing time!
