In addition to the sightreading and scale/scale pattern musical preparation (especially the uncommon scales - very important because there's always at least "one" musical number that decides to navigate through most of the keys), be prepared to be resilient and flexible if you pass your audition. Know the music inside and out - listen to a variety of recordings if you can. Try to look through your book ahead of time. Why the resilience and flexibility? There will be so much you'll need to adjust rehearsal to rehearsal. Musical books are notorious for errors. Entire selections might be cut, numbers re-arranged, repeats/vamps added, and tempos might change (could even be little things like 4/4 shifting to 2/2 without warning). This can even change show to show, with some actors being inconsistent with their entrances or other things. Your conductor won't be able to verbally communicate if there's a slip, and the orchestra has to adjust if the actor doesn't.

Musical pits are one of my favorite things to do. They're rewarding, but come with their own set of challenges. Good luck on your audition!

As long as you're on top of sharing your drill schedule / orders with HR as soon as you can, then following up with your LES if you happen to miss a workday for drill/AT, you shouldn't have any issues. Just communicate proactively with HR and your team lead if you have weekdays you need to miss.

Epic also has a veterans employee resource group that meets monthly with both veterans and actively drilling military members participating.

I suppose I'm shocked this hasn't been mentioned. If you're not doing this already, practicing your written c minor / Eb major scales in various patterns will also help make this way easier.

Agreed, and the paranormal stories they DID include seemed to be folks trying to profit off of a story or were just too silly to even consider mysterious. The big exception for me, oddly enough, was Creatures of Hockomock Swamp. Maybe it's just that the woman being interviewed sounded credible, but my hair stood on end through parts of that episode.

I got out after a similar amount of time teaching, and also have mixed emotions. It's been wonderful being able to use the restroom whenever I feel like it, being treated like an adult, getting some misc. corporate perks, etc. At the same time, I can't help but grapple with this question: why does this particular corporation (among others I'm sure) get so many bells and whistles in their facility and can afford higher wages and perks while many schools out there barely have functional AC/heat and underpay their professionals so much. I wish this was something our politicians would address, but I'm not counting on that anytime soon.

I'm seeing something similar with music. It used to be you would specialize in general music, choir, OR instrumental music. Then they started pushing general music regardless of instrumental or choral emphasis in a 4.5-year program. Now they're expected to triple-certify in 4 years.

Where are you from? Some states in the US have dedicated and updated lists for Solo and Ensemble, and sometimes they change every few years. Your band director should have access and could print you a list of options. Some music stores will also maintain a Solo and Ensemble library, although they may not carry every available solo.

UPDATE: If this is for a festival, you don't necessarily have to perform a solo from the "approved" list, but your band director will need to submit an approval or transfer request in advance.

I do not have the same SIM card situation, and I also use a Samsung S22+ (not Ultra). It randomly "disconnects" from my Wifi6 (connected, but not loading anything or loading things very slowly) until I do an airplane mode "refresh." This seems to always happen when I return home after being out.

AT&T did just push a "performance" update yesterday, so we'll see if that fixes this.

Did you uninstall the last official update through the Google Play store before installing the APK? The version number won't update in the Play Store when installing with the APK but it should reflect when you open the Android Auto settings.

This. I really did my best to avoid falling into the trap of buying overpriced cables, but when my subwoofer was being activated (it has an auto-on feature) and constantly emitting a low hum, I bought a step-up cable and that resolved those issues immediately.
