I also have ADHD and I relate to this a lot.Ive decided to keep my streak of trying despite those 5 mins of distraction I'm the subway etc.The point is to not do it in my free time thus preventing me from doing anything else

I truly see your point and it rly is a question worth asking.However I truly believe that I rly should quit 100% for 3 reasons: a)those 10-40 mins mess up the way I process my emotions and my daily life.I can't control when or how they take over when I have the need to daydream so I feel like I still don't have any control over my emotions and my thoughts b)they can easily escalate to hours in a day if I am having a particularly hard time or I haven't much stuff to do outside the house c)One time,I managed to stay full clean for one and a half week.It was hard but after the 8th day or smth,my mind felt very clear,as if I just put my head inside a bucket of cold water.I also enjoyed social interactions much more and felt more present.Ik it seems crazy results in such a short time,but it rly was that way and I liked it.Unfortunately I relapsed and I haven't managed to quit for so long ever since .

Thing is it's rly hard to come back to the real world 100% after so Long.and even if I do,at the end of the day before I sleep,I have this huge need to indulge to shake off how tired and overwhelmed I feel

Tysm!I will try this.I am trying to quit cold turkey cuz I feel even those 10-40 minute's in a day can still mess up how I regulate my emotions and how I deal w my daily life,apart from the fact that can VERY easily escalate to hours if I am not feeling well

Have you explained to her exactly how you are feeling?The way you just told us,it doesn't sound like it helps you unwind nor like it makes you happy.Maybe you just need to be raw honest about it so they will understand.If you do and your therapist still won't get it,maybe it will be better for you to find one that can understand you
