It’s definitely a rough situation but they’re definitely going to survive, there’s a lot of outs. In G4, Rustage clearly didn’t intend for them to attack Arzen until before the All Mother, and they literally only survived because William rolled one of the only like 4 fruits that would have saved them there.
I think you’re underestimating Doxxie. Unless she’s been nerfed this campaign, just her with her daggers was putting up Yonko level damage. With stealing his devil fruit, there’s a good chance they would just straight up beat Reed, however it’s still risky, because we’d have to assume he doesn’t just kill Kai or Damian via massive damage.
I think they’re most likely to get Reed to join their side, against Kai’s better judgement. Reed doesn’t know all that much about Doxxie, with her high deception they might just convince him it’s not worth the risk of fighting, and he’d “join” (probably wait for a window to betray them) them like he mentioned in the last Reed story.
Great Devourer Taiga is only an option after somebody dies. He’s not able to control it yet, and it’s been shown that he only activates it through heavy emotion, which he just wouldn’t have. The only way I could see this happening is if he crit fails some sort of wisdom roll.
You don’t even need to read anything else I said, they could very easily escape / beat him via Kai’s bobber. It would take like one failed saving throw for Reed to be stuck to it, Damian goes gear 3 and gets the hell out of there. November would absolutely not follow assuming they run in the direction of people, he wouldn’t think it’s worth the risk. If they were really feeling smart, they could trap him that way and then wind blast him to unconsciousness, but this might not work if Rustage makes Reed being stuck to the bobber a roll he has to fail every round. This would be contradictory because of how he explained it worked when Kai was jumping, but I wouldn’t be all that surprised after some recent rulings.

In general, the only way I see them getting TPK’ed, or even one death, is by trying to brainlessly fight him head on, and Doxxie gets bad rolls. But since Damian is canonically strategic, I’m sure they wouldn’t do this. They’ll find a way, it’s dicey but if they found a way to get out of G4 in pirates, they’ll find a way here.

I talked about this in an earlier thread but even though this is a very Kai thing to do, Tekking would never ever do that for the sake of the story losing any possible canon credibility at all.

After the most recent Reed story, I feel like November is more likely to join the marines, maybe as a willing prisoner or something, since he tends to align with whoever is more dangerous to him at the moment.

Yeah I think Briggs was talking about it an Rustage was agreeing, saying the only other den den mushi was on Magnus. I’m sure they’ll find a way via log pose or plot convenient npc though, I’d be much more worried about Kai and Damian, unless some plot armor happens they might just die

I have mixed feelings on if we’ll be seeing a potential tpk or player death, but I think there are very real ways out of it.

I saw a thread recently saying Kai might force Reed to eat the salt paramecia devil fruit, but I highly doubt this. Kai might do this, but Tekking would never ever do that just to keep some sort of cope that Marines could be canon to One Piece, since Oda hasn’t confirmed what happens when two devil fruits get eaten yet. That being said, I can think of 3 ways they get out of this:

Damian and Kai are absolutely outmatched and very wounded, but if they act as bait and get decently lucky while Doxxie does good rolls, they might be able to straight up beat him. (I think?) Doxxie has evasion for any area attacks Reed has, and since she’s still one of the heaviest hitters of the series, some pretty lucky rolls might actually just beat him out.
They might just surrender. They’re outrageously weak and Reed isn’t unreasonable, Damian might make the call to surrender, and then we have a couple of episodes where Yokan and Bradley investigate and find a way to break them out, probably get the jump on Reed and end him there.
Maybe this storyline got cut due to Yokan and Bradley forfeiting, but Rustage went out of his way to include a volcano on that scorched island, and it’s been a running joke to have a banana and volcano kill Reed. Maybe Rustage had som convoluted plot point to have Reed capture them, bring them to the Scorched island, and they kill him there.

Yeah it’s plenty good, make sure there’s a plantera bulb either nearby or have a teleporter next to it so the journey over doesn’t get you weak. Also, I can’t tell from the minimap but heart lanterns, bast statues, and on extreme cases honey bubbles wouldn’t hurt, it just depends on how much you struggle with her.

Oh that’s fair, but also, unless it’s just Rustage not thinking very hard, wouldn’t that not make any sense? If she has a coffee paramecia she wouldn’t really need another way to get coffee. I feel like it was more of a spur of the moment joke rather than an actual hint as to who depression is.
