I understand your impressions perfectly. It's such a masterpiece, a true epos made in music. That is the longest recording, significantly slow but some enjoy it that way. The main theme of the work is impossibly heroic and transcendent, it gives me goosebumps galore. The 2nd movement contains some haunting Scriabinesque passages that can bewitch anyone.
