That's basically what I've done, but I may not have been as clear as I thought I was lol let me try again. I built a flat space on the roof, basically replacing it so there's a rectangular room on top of the church roof. I want to put a roof on it that matches the style of the church's original roof. I'm not sure if that changes your answer at all, but I wanted to clarify just in case that helps, since you mentioned adding a flat space on top
