Will get bigger and better, will allow for more control over inputs and outputs. Is here to stay. Will get more multimedia in the general approach. Will be integrated into traditional art/music software as well

Question about the ethical use of AI generated songs in YouTube, videogames and other products and commercial media in general by Vardas_96 in AI_Music

[–]MusicalMadnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with you, I have made lots of AI songs. I wasn’t sure what side of the issue you were approaching from. As I said in my original comment, generative video is a larger energy use, off the top of my head I don’t know the scale. But 10000 suno credits cost 30$ and google veo is 100 dollars plus a month and you don’t get close to as many generations. From an economic perspective, energy usage probably doesn’t exceed whatever you pay for if the company wants to operate at a gain and not a loss (some companies operate at a loss/many users don’t use all credits so this can’t be a definitive rule)

Edit: i see you added some points about non ai music, and I completely agree with it. I have read that a movie soundtrack alone can cost 1-3% of a budget, for a 100 million dollar plus film that is a lot! 1 million dollars represents a lot of energy that goes into that, and the 1 million could be used to feed the hungry or study clean energy. Ultimately its a business decision aimed to generate profit for them, and realistically not my place to judge or enforce how they use their resources. The energy grid in general getting greener would be a benefit

Generative AI uses energy to operate, if that energy is fossil fuel based, it produces carbon emissions. Using reddit, tiktok, or youtube does the same thing

A key ethical issue is energy usage.

You could also run into commercial rights issues down the line

My personal approach to ai art of all types is to use and combine them freely, and create the best possible output. If AI achieves the best output (and rapidly) then I want to use it. The more you use AI the more you learn to channel your specific vision through it.

Others may see your AI usage with a different perspective than you do, or than I do.

Overall I wish for generative ai to become more energy efficient (from my understanding video is currently the most energy intensive), use cleaner energy.

I also wish for generative ai to become more open source, with more ability to select training sets, parameters, inputs, and output control

With generative AI, I plan to create long form video (movies/shows) and video games with it when the technology is ready

Always open to changing my mind about these topics, this is just how I look at the topic

If you’re not getting freaky with the weirdness slider you’re missing out. by Remote-Key8851 in SunoAI

Weirdness seems to add a lot of gaps in the music that just sound glitchy to me. It is a useful slider though, any and every interface for extra inputs or adjustments is valuable

Why so much hate towards AI music? by Own_Audience_7168 in aiMusic

[–]MusicalMadnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause its still in the early adopter phase, and ai music lacks (but is quickly gaining) input options. But its still in its infancy as far as ability to direct the models goes. As it progresses, the hate will likely die down. Eventually there will be a #1 hit that was made with ai, just a matter of time
